Lack of simple on and off button diminishes what could be a great toothbrush

The most annoying part of this toothbrush is that you have to push 3 times to turn off if you wish to stop mid sequence. Really annoying and poorly thought out. If the various options were available via a different button, that would have been great or an ability to simply pause without going through the sequence. I was a real fan of the older, simpler version though like that the bulkiness is gone as is the yellowing plastic. I believe this is still a very solid and long lasting brush, yet I am not impressed over all by it's utility.
Pros: like the variety of brush heads, love the ultraviolet cleaning case, slim brush light great for travel
Cons: the buttons are lacking in practicality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Happy gums and whiter teeth in one week!

I am cavity prone and dread seeing the dentist. A friend recommended using a Sonicare. It has done wonders for my teeth! I use the 'diamond clean' head with a whitening tooth sensitive toothpaste for a week and was amazed at how white my teeth were. I had my teeth cleaned and the hygenist commented on how white my teeth were and the great condition of my gums. So far, no cavities and I still enjoy using it!
Pros: whitens and cleans teeth best, fun to use!, works well with whitening toothpaste, improves gum health
Cons: not for those sensitive to the vibration

A great product

I love brushing with this toothbrush. It's easy to use and let's me know when to move to a new area by beeping. My teeth feel very clean and my mouth feels refreshed after brushing. My dentist recommended Sonicare and I'm so glad I purchased it.
Pros: easy to use and leaves my teeth very clean.

Great toothbrush but there is a problem with the design

This toothbrush is a major improvement over my old electric; it's gentle on my gums and gets the job done. However, there is a problem that keeps me from using it to its full potential. There are two brushing modes and while I would like to use both, the design of the brush is so frustrating, I just use the main setting and this is why. The on/off button is the same button that toggles between the two brushing modes, plus the toothbrush defaults to the first cleaning mode. I like to turn off the brush off in the middle of brushing, so I hold down the on/off button. First it switches to the other mode, then it turns off. Most of the time when I turn it back on, it does not pick up where it left off timewise and has reset itself to the original two minute timer which is very annoying. It would have been much more user friendly if there was a button dedicated to switching between the two modes and a separate on/off button. I understand other models have this feature. This really frustrates me, so I leave the brush on for the entire two minutes when it would actually be more comfortable to turn it off for a moment during brushing. Other than this issue....which is a big one for me....I do like the brush very much.
Pros: gentle on gums
Cons: on/off button same as mode button

I got hooked on this brush many years ago. I will never stop using it.

My dentist likes that I use it. A few months ago I was able to get my wife to try it. Now she is also hooked.
Pros: ease of use
Cons: pricy

Keeps my mouth clean and fresh

Since my family started using this tooth brush after Christmas 2011 we have noticed a remarkable difference in how our teeth stays plaque free. With a regular tooth brush I used to see plaque forming with-in a month after the dentist cleaned my teeth. I'm looking forward to this visit with the dentist to get his professional opinion; which I'm sure it will be good. Our mouth and breath also feel so much fresher and cleaner. This is a good product which I do recommend to my friends if the subject happens to come up.
Pros: clean fresh mouth
Cons: we have to clean the spots off the mirror often

Love this toothbrush

We have been using this same toothbrush as a family for over two years and it's still going strong. We all use our own brush head and colored Steripod toothbrush covers to tell who's toothbrush head is who's. Even the kids use it, and brushing their teeth is so much easier with sonicare than a traditional toothbrush. The only thing I would change is the rubbery material on the toothbrush handle seems to be yellowing over time even if thoughts it's kept clean and wiped down frequently.
