This is the second sonic toothbrush I've owned. I started using a sonic electronic toothbrush 3 years ago. Since then my dental cleanings are much easier and I have a lot less plaque.
Pros: less plaque
Cons: more expensive than a regular toothbrush

Hard to tell if there is a difference between manual brushing and this. I guess only the next few dentist visits will tell.
Pros: 2 minute auto shut off, easy to replace heads
Cons: replacement head prices

I recently purchased the Philips ProResults, based on many years of excellent experience with the e series. The new product has more than lived up to my expectations. I travel extensively, and have been very pleased with the number of uses between re-charges.

This is a great replacement but not quite as powerful as the last one.

I have only used this toothbrush for a week now but I have to say I love it. I take great pride in keeping my teeth clean, I hate that gritty feeling that one gets between brushing and usually my routine consists of three regular brushings a day. First thing I noticed is that if I apply too much pressure it lets me know that, which is fine. Next, after I finish brushing my teeth they are squeaky clean and this I enjoy. As long as my teeth and gums are healthy and clean I will always continue to use this product. Manual toothbrushes dont do any justice compared to my sonic one.
Pros: gives you squeaky clean teeth

Great Toothbrush - wish they would last longer

Does a great job cleaning - your teeth feel really clean, but we have gone through 6 of these in the past 8 year. Either the metal that holds the brush comes loose and wobbles or they just "die". With the exception of one which was still under warranty, they seem to expire or break just after the warranty runs out. For the price of the tooth brush and cost of the heads, one would expect a little more longevity. If you use this toothbrush you will never go back to a non-electric brush. Have had current replacement product for several months and is working great.
Pros: does a great job of cleaning
Cons: don't last very long
