Pretentious and Over-complicated

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is an "economy class," miniature smart-phone that runs the latest Android OS (4.1.2 at the time of this review). While the Samsung Galaxy Ring supports most smart-phone features, it is too "economical" to really function as a reliable smart-phone.
The majority of the Samsung Galaxy Ring's issues, however, does not come from its low-power intended hardware, but rather the Android OS. The smart-phone, in essence, works to function like a minature, mobile computer, and while the hardware is always important for the functionality of a computer, most users will interact with the software and OS to become familiar with the system; as such, the hardware is merely a conduit for the software.
This means that the Samsung Galaxy Ring tries to be a power-efficient, economically inclined minature computer, and it falls considerably short. The Samsung Galaxy Ring does not have the processing or battery power to support the Android OS, granted the Android OS and smart-phones in general are designed to be technology that is still years in the making (minature, power-efficient and fully functional mobile computers).
More specific to the device, it has serious issues when it comes to USB connections, and while it states that it can act as a media device, it has the potential to do so, but it encounters connection errors; however, this seems to be a common issue with most Samsung and Android OS devices. The Samsung Galaxy Ring also supports a slot for a micro-sd card, but as with most micro-sd cards, many users will find it difficult to insert and remove the card, and as the device gives no indication as how to insert a micro-sd card into the slot, users could potentially damage the card or the slot if they do not insert the card correctly and carefully.
This device can also have potential audio issues when making and receiving calls and playing a music application. This problem seems to be related to inserting a head-phone connector into the audio jack. There are many problems related to the audio-jack, in fact. At times, if the connector in the audio jack is touched, it can result in stopping or pausing any media player in use, and also upon occasion, an automated voice recording staes "please unlock the device."
Also, like most Samsung product, the screen is very fragile and as it is a touch-screen, protective cases and "boxes" will not protect the screen. Another software problem comes in the form of the "swype" text feature. The purpose of this feature seems to aim at making texting quicker, but because of touch-screen calibrations, the feature tends to be buggy and fails to insert the correct text entries. Texting with the device is glitchy in many aspects, which is unfortunate for any device whose primary purpose is communication.
Overall, this is not a recommended product due to its over-complicated design and various technical errors that were not debugged during development. The issue with this device, and smart-phones in general, is that it moves away from being a communicative device and into a miniature computer. Although modern times are moving into the digital age, that period has not yet arrived, and as such, technology is suffering from being "ahead of the times."

Best Phone I've Ever Bought!

Never had any troubles with my galexy. I would recommend it to anyone and have before. One thing they don't tell you about it is, it's extremely durable. Mine has been dropped, thrown, fell in dish water. Still worked great after it dried out. Screen never cracked, was always faster thany friends phones. Love it! Great job to the creates of the Samsung Galaxy Ring!! :)

great phone. Easy to use, great phone for the price. Bright nice screen and colors. Good reception and wi-fi . About the only negative is that it is sometimes hard to hear everything even with it enhanced.... everything that I've ever owned from Samsung has been high Quality.

great on a budget

obviously its a phone so it does all the essentials, Past that for the money you spend its not a bad deal. Ideal for people that just want their phone to do what it needs play music and surf the net. My only complaints or drawbacks to the phone is its exteremly limited memory, and the fact that it reads sd cards as emulated so you can't push apps to the sd card to free up phone memory. At present i keep about 4-5 additional apps on my phone and i get a low memory warning about once every 2 weeks.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive
Cons: low memory

poor storage

This phone is not all that great . Has a SD card slot but you have no control as to what goes on it. you can't move your app down loads to it,unless it wants to . All down loads go to phone storage with is about 1.5 gig before it will start to run real slow.only way to get back up to par , delete some of your downloads till you have ample storage. So much for saving your apps. Reception for the phone itself is very poor.If your not on wifi more than likely the people you are talking are not going to hear ya and hang up. Took it back to where I got to get the storage thing worked out and after about 45 mins of everyone trying .one guy said it was out dated.Now come on you've got to be kidding . One week Old and its out dated, and this was an upgrade from the one that was stole done. Diffidently would not recommend.
