Great backpack

This is my second Gambit backpack. The first one was a promotional pack I got as a gift and has a logo I don't care to carry around any more. It was so good I had to replace it with one identical. The number and placement of the pockets, the areas to keep glasses, lap-top, accessories, etc are wonderful. My previous backpack saw 5 years of heavy use, I hope and expect the new one to be at least as good and sturdy as the first one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Bag, but Misleading Dimensions

Great quality, great value, great fit, great organization, great backpack.
CAUTION: Although the laptop compartment will hold a Lenovo P52 (10.5" x 15" x 1") laptop, it WILL NOT fit in the padded sleeve. The dimensions shown in the product info diagram are for the entire pocket, not the sleeve.
That said, the laptop does fit in the compartment and seems sufficiently padded and protected, but if you expect to use the padded sleeve for regular size 15" laptop, you'll be disappointed. Otherwise,I can find no issues and really like this pack.
Pros: fantastic organization, pockets compartments zippers galore, comfortable for large-framed people
Cons: sleeve does not hold a 10.5x15 in. laptop

Have had mine since early 2005, still in perfect condition with only one rip on the netting pocket on one side. Been to many countries and various climates with it in tow. Hiking up waterfalls to boogie boarding and still dry inside and perfect almost 15 years later. Best backpack ever!
Pros: everything is perfect about it from fit to finish

Perfect Backpack

I've been using this backpack for work for over a year. This backpack is perfect for a microscope calibration tech. It holds my 17" laptop easily. I keep sensitive calibration equipment in the protective compartment. Calibration stickers and pens in another. Random parts that I commonly need in the side pockets. There are nice little zipper pockets inside that are great for my USBs and valuable HASP keys that ensure they will never fall out without me noticing and get lost. There is plenty of room for all of my power chords, cables, rain jacket, and a magazine or book. Also compartments to keep all of my badges in that I need to keep for different customer accounts. Plus there is still room left for whatever extra supplies I randomly need to take with me.
Pros: perfect for microscope calibration technicians, safety compartment, comfortable, durable, looks cool

Quality and function

I carried an Ogio Metro for 8 years. The only reason I was looking for a replacement is because it started to smell. Tried another manufacturer because of price. 3 months later I bought the gambit. Very sturdy. Very high quality. Purposeful construction. Big zippers and extra stitching where necessary. I see this lasting me 10+ years
Pros: many compartments, large zippers, carries heavy weight easily
Cons: laptop is limited to 15” in dedicated pouch, no gun holster

Great sturdy bag

There's so many great pockets and compartments in this bag. The only thing I dislike is the amount of branding all over the backpack. The logo is pressed into the back of the bag, stitched into the top and twice on the front, and is very brightly stitched into every single zipper in the bag. I also wish the sunglasses compartment was removable so that taller items could fit in the large main compartment. But it's been a fantastic bag so far!
Pros: functionality
Cons: branding overboard

I've used bag for International travel that included 2 laptops- both 15in, including protective pouches. Was able to organize documents and carry items easily and safely. Extraction of electronics for security and flight was easy.
The additional side pockets are large enough for everything needed including specs pouch and phone. All zips high quality and sturdy. All over well designed and high quality product without the high cost associated with other brands.
I see a 1 star review for laptop size restriction. I checked at store and confirmed 15in was easily stored. Not sure poor selection of bag through guessing is reason for a 1. This is an excellent bag if your laptop is designed to fit the bag!
Highly recommended product
