Should have larger space for the shavings so it does not have to be cleaned so often. Also should have a travel lock so it does not discharche by itself as it happened to me.
Pros: good shaving blades, light weight
Cons: no travel lock, not enough space for the shavings

I owned another brand of electric shaver for 5 years and was content with it's adequate performance and convenience. However, to get a really close shave, I had use a regular razor, especially for special occasions. My old shaver's battery was starting to not hold its charge so I started to research. I read the reviews for the Norelco 1290x and bought one. The 1290x with the Jet-clean system is amazing. It shaves just as close as a razor, even when used dry. The build quality is impressive (made in Europe) and the features are very useful. The Jet-Clean system is great! It cleans and lubricates as advertised. I use it after every shave. It is very refreshing to see a high end product that is actually well made and offers luxurious performance.
Pros: well designed!, high build quality (made in europe), very useful features., jet-clean works fantasticly, close razorlike shave!
Been a fan of Norelcos for several decades now. Still have a 88XX series as a backup and really liked the digital battery monitor and shaving capabilities. Next one was a 6XXX series, but was never satisfied with it after the higher end model.
This time I went back to top even though the shaver looked a little strange with the heads sticking out the top like palm tree. Once I shaved with it, I realized the pivot point allowed the heads to easily follow the contours of your face and neck. Combined with the Ultratrack heads and the great digital display, this is the best razor yet! Super smooth shaves and very fast.
When you rinse the heads and leave them open in the holder to dry, it looks like a scene from the StarTrek traction-beam scene. I'm starting to think the design is actually pretty cool, so I gave it a 5 also!
Pros: smooth and fast, great display and monitoring.
Cons: pricey but worth it!

The razor gives a good, quick, comfortable shave. The trimmer does not cut as clean as a safety razor.

I've been looking for a new razor for a while. Had the Bond 8894 Spectra which was an awesome product. Why it is no longer offered is beyond me...Finally gave in and bought a 1290x, just couldn't live without the digital number of minutes left in the charge. The razor is easy to use, easy to clean, and fits nice in the hand. Still in the breaking in period so will have to see how close it shaves. I have a heavy beard.
My only negative comment has to do with the travel case. How are you supposed to travel with that case when you can't fit the cord or charger in it? Love to hear Norelco explain this. Just embarrassing for such an expensive razor.
Pros: ease of use, very easy to clean
Cons: travel case, flimsy charging stand

I love my razor. I get a close even shave without any irritation. I do not like the trimmer as it is clumbsy and does not cut close. The position is awkward. Noting else about the shaver is flawed. I love it.
