Works like a razor should

I owned a Braun with cleaner charger and it was very good for three years and three blase changes. However, it was loud and required me to go in several different directions to get a smooth shave. The Phillips is quiet doesn't require cleaning fluid for the charger and I don't have to go over the same area as many times. Seems to shave just as close.
Pros: quiet, close shave, quick charge, fits in hand easily, cleans easily
Cons: only 53 minutes of charge, doesn't seem as powerful as braun, tough for precision work

The best shaver that I will own because of non irritation. I have used electric shavers for decades and this Philips results in the smoothest shave without my skin getting burned or nicked. I have sensitive skin and I want the best for care and results. The shave could not be closer and the charge time is ultra fast before being completely recharged. I allow it to run down to a minute remaining in charge because I know even on the go that the ease of charging speaks volumes in convenience time.aln

I have been using this product for several years now and am pleased with it. I really can't find any fault with it. I prefer to use it more so than using a razor blade each day and I find it fast and not messy to use at all. I like the style of it and the fact that it is light weight. It is easy to use and convenient. I have faith that Norelco makes the best electric shavers available.

Having used the Philips Norelco Smart Touch XL for approximately 10 years, it was time to get a new electric razor. The electric motor was beginning to slow down. I decided to go "all the way" and get the 1280X with cleaning unit.
The 1280X takes shaving to an advanced level which has to be experienced to be believed. Does an incredible job on face and neck. I love the digital display and the cleaning unit which always keeps my Philips Norelco in perfect clean condition. The system could not be easier.
I also like the trimmer which I believe does a better job than my previous XL. You will not be disappointed with the 1280X. Kudos to Philips for making such a great product.
Pros: digital display, cleaning unit, nicely designed grip, works quickly

Shaver works great with shaving cream. Charges quickly for an hour of shaves, displays minutes left. Shaves are fast, typically less than 5 minutes...easy to clean and use.

It is an excellent shaver when it is working properly. I had some problems with the razor not charging and not turning on. Philips Norelco was excellent in fixing the problem by sending me a new one. The only other problem I see is if you do not always hold the razor in a particular way, you hand will hit the sensitive on/off button.
Pros: gives a very close shave, easy to use, quick charging time
Cons: on/off button is very sensitive, may have some kinks in it

Excellent Shaver and Far Superior to Foil

I have been a user of foil electric razors for 15+ years, mostly Braun and Panasonic, and I can say unequivocally that the Norelco is far superior. Much closer shave, particularly the neck area.
Used to have a use a blade to finish up but no longer.
Works best as a wet shaver as it can cause some face irritation when used on dry skin
Very satisfied and wish I had switched sooner.

I love the fact that the razor is both wet and dry and is so easy to clean (after every use). The other aspect that's so great is that the track heads seem to do a better job getting all the facial hair, both in terms of better following the contour, but also seeming to be sharper or better able to cut through facial hair. Lastly, I like the fact that the time to recharge is clearlystated at all times. It really seems to be an advancement.
