not designed for traveling. Mounting bracket and charger are the problem.

I have used this brand of razor for years and have never had a problem until this model. It gives a great shave but the battery does not last as long as previous models and the charging stand is very fragile and not meant for travelling and if you did take it with you it would take up too much room.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

excellent design. Love the quiet motor and being able to rinse under the tap.

This the best electric shaver I ever have had but I hate it that you need to clean it after each use.

Smooooth!

I have used Norelco razors for over 35 years and the 1290X is the very best in a long line of triple headers. I still have my old triple header, just installd new cutters and I use it for quick touch up but the 1290X is the best for a compete close shave.

This is the best shaver I have ever had.
One negative is that the replacement head set is pricey, around $60 dollars. Shaves are smooth without irritation and the unit charges quickly.

Closer shave than other Philips shavers. Trimmer is difficult to see when cutting.
Pros: holds a good charge
Cons: trimmer not handy
