I Love The Bottom Freezer!
on August 31, 2013

This is the first bottom freezer refrigerator I have owned. It is an outstanding item. It does not have ice and water in the door which means there are less moving parts to become defective. The ice maker located in the bottom freezer is very good and provides plenty of ice.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Beautiful & Wonderful

With the recommendation of salesman, I opened my mind and tried LG. I am very glad that I chose LG. I have not owned this long enough to prove it durable, but I can "feel" that it is a wonderful piece. If you look the parts carefullly, you can tell the quality is very, very good. No cheap parts anywhere. Every guests get attracted by this beatiful and wonderful piece right away. One thing to remember: Decide which side you want the door to open when you make the order, just in case the delivery person refuse to exchange for you.
Pros: Quality, Features/Settings, easy to use, Performance, Style/Design

Very Pleased

Overall, an excellent product. Only one complaint: the refrigeration system makes a high pitched noise. It is much quieter than any other refrigerator we have had but what noise it does make is a high pitched "whistle". Maybe I am just more annoyed by this certain pitch as my wife is not bothered.
Otherwise, we are very pleased. Interior is very adjustable, allowing it to hold more food than our previous unit even though it is rated as a slightly smaller capacity. Everything is easy to reach and the interior is well illuminated. Seems to hold products a long time without spoilage.

So far so good

I purchased this because of the size and features. My sister also has an french door style for which she had to have the repair man in 3 times. I purchased an add'l 2 yr. warranty after hearing her experience. I have no complaints with mine so far however, I hope I shall never have to take advantage of the add'l. warranty I purchased. Better safe than sorry!

LG single door bottom freezer
on April 19, 2010

This is the refrigerator we have been looking for. It's quiet, and roomy. The efficiency rating is excellent compared to our old unit. One feature we especially like is that the freezer is a solid drawer with a separate pullout basket. One can readily see where things are, and they are much simpler to organize. The refrigerator is very easy to see into, being at eye level. Our space is limited, so we opted for the single door, rather than the French doors.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, efficiency

Great new fridge

I am a long-time bargain hunter. Therefore, when I needed a new refrigerator, I researched several months before deciding. This LG was the best I could find. The only thing that I would change is for it to have a temperature controlled meat drawer. Other than that, I love it.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: no meat drawer

Great refrigerator

I just love this refrigerator. My new LG replaced a 16 year old side by side Whirlpool that I disliked from Day 1. The difference is great cooling system. Great ice machine. Love the construction of the bottom freezer. Researched many brands and LG just seemed to be made better.
The only bad point is that the ice machine makes a little noise - but not that bad once you get used to it.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: ice maker a little noisy

Exceeds Almost All Expectations

When our 15-yr old refrigerator died, I already had a list of things that I desired for its replacement, and the looks, features, and value of the LDC22720ST met or exceeded everything I was looking for in comparative models. The height and configuration of the shelves is ideal, and there is no more bending to search for items as with our old top-freezer. It is a fairly quiet model, even when making ice cubes, but certainly not a "silent" refrigerator, as some would like. We love the size and volume of the cubes, and the 2 pull-out freezer shelves are very nice. The only problem we have is that the refrigerator can only be levelled at the front of the unit. We need to raise the back so that the door doesn't always slam shut and so that we are able to get ice cubes without having to pry open the freezer door and shelf while doing so. Somehow we'll have to lift the refrigerator while we install shims manually at the back--a rear level adjustment is a feature that shouldn't have been overlooked. But we do enjoy everything else about this appliance. The two coldness settings are very accurate and easy to manipulate. I was skeptical about prints and smudges on the stainless steel, but with a quick daily wipe, this has been absolutely no problem for us. Thanks, LG, for a great start to our stainless steel kitchen. I think your value and quality cannot be matched.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Features/Settings, Quality, size/volume of ice
Cons: no way to raise or lower the rear of the unit
