This safe is the perfect size for my documents. I read the product description prior to ordering it and it said it is fire proof and waterproof yet the mini manual that came with it says fire resistant. I did call sentry and was told it’s FireProof. So not sure what it is. I bought it to be fireproof. It’s very roomy. Holds everything

Sturdy and compact. Standard length hanging files fit perfectly with along the raised lip in the interior. I would've given 5 stars if there was a tray that fit over the main cavity.

Good While It Lasted

I got this for my important documents and liked that it fit file folders to keep everything organized. It was the perfect size to fit in a small space. However, after just a few months, the lock became stuck and wouldn’t push up to unlatch. Nothing was stuck and even tried when it was empty… the lock was still stuck and we couldn’t open it. Currently, I was able to take out my documents but now it’s stuck shut and the pop latch won’t open. I’ve had this less than a year and opened it maybe once a month. Having this break so early on was a waste of money especially since the entire mechanism is plastic.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Shell splits over time. Common problem

Safe is decent for files but within a year it started to develop a crack in the plastic shell. 6 months later, it’s destroyed. All this safe has done is sit on a carpeted floor inside our house and never come into contact with fire or water. It’s it’s maybe been opened a dozen times in the two years we’ve had it. Judging from the other comments, this is a consistent issue and SentrySafe clearly has had a QC issue. This was my first SentrySafe and not happy, there’s no reason for this.

Cheap plastic

I bought this safe to store important documents. Opened it yesterday and the whole plastic lock assembly panel fell off the lid. It was only glued on and could easily be pitied apart with a screwdriver. I returned it and will not be purchasing anything from SentrySafe if this is how they build their products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's a good safe (not that I've thrown it into a fire to test it mind you!). I do love the key lock and the upper design that incorporates handles. It makes it much easier to move when necessary. --Rather than having to find something to pry underneath it in order to attempt to slip my fingers underneath, then to wiggle them under enough to get enough space for my actual hands. It was murder if you have carpal tunnel.

Wanted to purchase product but read bad reviews. Reviews indicated that the interior release latch brakes, as it is plastic and they could not get into safe. Several reviews indicated, they had to use a crow bar to try and pry open. If fire proof item, why are there plastic mechanisms anyway?. Will not purchase this brand or product.

Thank you for your feedback. This safe is fire rated for 30 minutes at 1550 degrees. The plastic outer shell will melt during a fire but it is the concrete-based insulation that makes the safe fire resistant.
