I chose this safe because all of my documents fit in hanging folders, the safe isn't too heavy, I wanted a mechanical lock (key), for its fire rating and water protection.

I never owned one of these before, previously relied on a safety deposit box. It seems to be adequately fire resistant. It doesn't hold as much as I first thought it would - maybe about 5 or 6 inches of paper including hanging folders. And it is heavy due to fireproofing materials. It could be improved by making the handles deeper. They are hard to grip and when the the file box is full the weight makes the grip feel kind of risky for my old arms. The box isn't that secure - the lock could easily be pried open but I didn't intend to use it as a safe.

Good amount of space inside for all the important documents I want to protect. Solid construction with a lot of weight - not generally something you'd want to move around a lot, though on the other hand, makes it harder for someone to just grab.
Only thing not tested is how it does in a fire and with water spray, something I hope to never have to actually find out.
