The safe is incredibly difficult to use. I suspect it is because the hinges are not straight and so the bars do not disengage from their sockets. Instead the handle spins round, crushing your knuckles against the number-pad. This is due to a security feature, apparently. If you do manage to push the handle round to the 3 o’clock position, it is sometimes possible to open the safe, presumably because I am now pushing us which alleviates the pressure on the bars. Customer service just told me to take it back to the retailer. The inside was also filthy and even the staples on the manual were corroded lumps.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Safe is great. The set up instructions are a bit confusing. I was only able to open it for the first time with a 9v battery which it does not state in the instructions. Lots of space, file organizer and tray inside. There is also a light that turns on when you open the door.

The size of this safe allowed me to consolidate files, jewelry, and electronic hard drives. I had to research it, but trays, drawers, and even a locking tray are available. I bought an extra tray, and now I have everything in one safe place, no longer worried about fire or water.
