I really like this safe, it is very nice overall, but the battery tray has a design flaw. There are notches in the plastic battery tray that restrict the batteries from making contact. At first, I thought that the safe was defective, until I isolated the problem to the battery tray. I was able to fix the problem by putting pieces of aluminum foil in the tray to complete the metal to battery contact. I called Sentry safe customer service, which was excellent, the and they sent me out a replacement battery tray. However, the replacement tray had the same problem. Which leads me to believe that this is a design flaw with the tray. This safe is otherwise a 5 star product, but I can't believe that I am the only person that has experienced this issue. It's very unfortunate that a great product such as this is tainted by a very inexpensive design flaw.

So far excellent, size seems just right for home use. Water, Fire Proof and 6 bolt door lock were big selling points for us. Even Bank Safety Deposit Boxes don’t offer this. Digital Keypad, plus Key and security alarm also big pluses. We are about to give up Bank Safety Deposit Box and eleminate those trips to Bank and hassle of signing in to gain acess. A Sentry Safe Seems Solution of Future.

My previous sentry safe did not open and had to spend for the locksmith to open. Hence I left with no option to purchase a new product again. It makes me very nervous when I place my valuables especially passport which I might not be able to take out in emergencies.

Will not open, I got safe and could not open it. Called help line twice and got different info how to open but following book and instruction for help line safe still will not open. So as it stands the safe is unusble. I have wasted so much time on this purchase.

Roomy enough for all my "stuff" that needs to be kept safe and secure. Like the pull out hanging file and adjustable top drawer. The handle is really stiff to operate but I think it may loosen up a little with use.

This sturdy and solid. It has a nice appearance and finish. The handle binds a little and the digital screen requires a solid push to illuminate - not a “tap”as suggested in the manual.
