We needed to replace a 17 year old Frigidaire microwave. We are planning on replacing our dishwasher as well in the near future. Getting matching appliances was a a major deciding factor for us. We really liked the KitchenAid dishwashers so we looked at their microwaves as well. This microwave gave us more internal capacity than our last and still fit into the same built-in space. The black and stainless front looks great. We have had it only a few weeks but it heats well and faster than prior microwave. It is much quieter than old microwave as well. We have not had any problems with the function of the microwave at this point. 1 star off as the door has a slight sag at the hinge. This makes the door not match up well on the opening side edge. This does not effect function, but when you pay for the upgrade of KitchenAid, you expect a little more in the fit and finish category. Time will tell on the durability

This is my third microwave in three months. First one was dented, second one was not operating as expected but the third time is the charm. It works fine, but if I hadn't been trying to match the existing appliances I would have looked at other brands. Kitchen Aid used to be the best but I'm not sure that's true anymore.

So far so good. So attractive stainless steal with matching trim kit mounted in wall above my new Kitchen aid oven. They are amazing together. It is not overwhelming, easy to use, and I love the large capacity. I have only had the unit 2 weeks so I hope it lasts for a long time. I have had two Whirlpool Gold units and both lasted about 3-5 years. I am hoping their Kitchen Aid micro will last longer but will have to wait and see. Right now I LOVE the unit.

This microwave will compliment any kitchen. We just built our new home and went with the top of the line commercial kitchen appliances. We looked at all the top brands. This was by far the highest rated for the 2.2 cu ft and 1200 watts. We use it for basically all types of cooking from boiling water, cooking vegetables and meats.
