This replaced the same KitchenAid unit which was less than a year old. The button opener on the previous unit would no longer open the door. The microwave works efficiently but a handle would have been an advantage over the button. The unit continues to "beep" five times when the session is complete even if the door is opened to remove the food. (Unnecessary noise).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I refused to purchase another Thermador microwave,so I did my research and decided on Kitchenaid. It's built- in over my Thermador built-in oven. I really love my new microwave. It looks good, it's quieter and cooks faster. However, kitchenaid should provide a guide suggesting the amount of time needed for certain main foods. I am having to use trial and error.
