The Epson Expression Home XP-410 came well-packed. The tapes securing loose parts were all easily found and removed and the initial cartridges (supplied) were installed. It took longer than expected (several minutes) to work through head cleaning routines without screen warnings sufficient to put my mind at rest that something was actually happening. Nevertheless, the first printout which details the setup arrangements soon emerged.
Software enabling internet access to the printer for iOS and Windows devices was easily found on the Epson website and installed and shared around amongst family members and their devices.
Text prints from this machine clearly and sharply and quite fast for a small home printer. Photos came out slowly but with good enough quality to give as a framed print for a Christmas present. The colour balance was slightly redder than shown on screen but this should be capable of correction through photo-editing software.
A month after installing the XP-410 I appear to have lost wi-fi contact between my Lenovo laptop and the printer, although I am still able to print using a USB connection. A similar problem occurred to me with an Epson Stylus Office T40W on the same laptop.
The 2.5" LCD screen is informative and helpful but I spent some time touching it before I realised the touchscreen part was the bit beside the colourful display, not the display itself. It is easy to use once you get the hang of this.
With the printer software it is possible to set how long the XP-410 remains "awake", on standby and before it switches off, so those concerned about power use can rest easy.
So far it seems like a good little printer. Little because it occupies no more desk space than the full A4 scanner requires. My only regret at this stage is not going for a printer with built-in duplexing to more easily save on paper.

I love the Epson XP-410, I was initially concerned that I would be unable to setup and manage wi fi printing. I tend to stress and need help, but this product was easy to setup and I remember thinking...OK, lets see if I can work this wi fi printing!!..I pressed print from my laptop and it worked, no lead or anything!!
I Love It!!
