this product was not as good as i expected

I began the process of unpacking the printer and connecting and was very diappointed with the time it took to set up and I have set up a few printers in my time and this one was the slowest I have ever had the pleasure of doing. The auto setup failed after a very long time and then i had to do it manually anyway. I was talked into the more expensive epson by the sales people. It does a good job but is slower to set up, slower to scan, slower to print, more than double the price, WIFI is so slow that I had to use the USB connection and that wasnt supplied with the printer. Even with USB to scan I found it one of the slowest scanners I have ever used. The user interface is not intuitive. the settings on PC are not easily accessed or altered. registration was nightmare as it kept telling me to load the autosetup to register which was not working. I logged onto the PC 24 hours later to find a pop up registration box on my browser! If I had the option to return it and get my money back I would. I am not computer illiterate but dont expect to have to spend 1.5 - 2.0 hours setting up a printer in this day and age. I think Epson needs to make the setup easier as this was the initial bad taste that still leaves a sour taste of buyers remorse with me. The speed at which the unit operates is not inline with market or industry competitors for less than half the price. As the salesman talked me into it due to full set of cartridges when the majority of my work is online and scanning documents for online and now all i am doing is scanning at a snails pace and printing with my old printer and i am still waiting for scanning to finish inbetween sending documents.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

it is not easy to set up

I purchased at least 3 printers before, most of them were easy to set up.
However, this printer, I cannot set up scan system for some reason and FAQ is not helping me at all.

The XP 410 purchased in 2014 has been the best Multi- function printer ever purchased.
It has all the features required and the WiFi feature is excellent compared to other makes used.
Cost of ink cartridges are reasonable and have good usage.

This is a replacement for my old TX100 that gave many years of faithful service. Altogether in our family we have 4 Epson printers (one for business) and all give faultless service for us. Would recommend any Epson product.

quick and easy setup

This printer was so easy to set up out of the box ,just installed the disc which came with it and with in 10 mins. I was printing off some emails . A great printer to replace my old Epson.

THE PRINTER WAS EXTREMELY EASY TO INSTALL ON MY DESK COMPUTER AND LAPTOP. BEING IN THE 'SENIORS' AGE GROUP THIS WAS A GREAT ADVANTAGE. THE PRINTER IS ALSO VERY USER FRIENDLY - ANOTHER ASSET TO MY AGE GROUP

This product is not easy to use for an older person with little experience

I have had great difficulty learning how to use this printer, especially how to copy items put under the lid. I purchased it new, and don't think I have any paperwork showing me how to do things. I can copy from my computer without any problems.
