Horrible

Like so many of the other reviews this is a poorly advertised product. Not WIFI, no cables, only plays audio on SOME titles on Netflix, slow, alphanumerical remote is a joke. Would never recommend this product and will never purchase Philips again.
Cons: basically everything
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible experience

HDMI and ethernet cables NOT included. I had to go back to the store and spend an additional $18 dollars on an ethernet cable. Once hooked up to the internet I was not able to use the numeric numbers on the remote control to sign into Netflix or YouTube, so I was not able to use either of those services. Basically I was able to use it solely as a blue-ray/dvd player, but once it requires a firmware update I will have no idea how to do that, since I can see no way from the main menu in accessing an internet webpage. This really bites the big one.
Pros: plays dvds well, good sound quality, nice picture
Cons: too many additional cables needed to purchase, inadequate useless remote control, poor use of internet, difficulty signing into netfix & youtube, does not work wirelessly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Disappointed

As stated above this product was an overall disappointment. We got it right after we got married and don't have proof of purchase to try and get a replacement. Even if we did I don't know that it would be worth it. The connection cuts out frequently. It's not the HDMI cord or the TV because I have tried every variation of swapping them out with other cords and tv's. Also, we bought it partially for netflix and youtube capabilities. Those are a joke. The connection is slow enough that while netflix is loading on the blu ray player, I can boot up my computer, get on netflix online, choose a movie and begin watching before the netflix home screen even shows up. As of tonight I can not get any picture on the player. I will not be buying phillips products anymore and would recommend that you don't either. This is the first review I have ever written on a product but I felt it was necessary to warn others.
Pros: cheap
Cons: broke after 3 months, netflix feature is painfully slow, freezes about 1 in every 3 times, connection with tv constantly cuts out
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the player. If you are facing issues regarding the connectivity of the player, this may be because the TV does not support certain display modes. To solve this issue, please click on the link below and follow the instructions to turn off the Deep Color Mode of the player. You can instantly watch TV episodes and movies as often as you want on your player. All you need is a wired internet connection and a Netflix membership package that includes streaming, and you are ready to go. Great product for what I needed

First of all, read the manual. The disk tray opens and closes just fine if you hold the reomote button down for 4 seconds or longer. The modle I bought does not have the wi-fi or the usb port, but his was not an issue because I have a Roku box for the wifi. I bought this player so I could play Blue Ray discs. It does that great. Everyone complains that the player does not come with a HDMI cable. I haven't seen any brand that does unless it is one of the high priced ones. All in all a great product for the price.
Pros: simple to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pretty Good

The performance of the BluRay player itself is great.. I love the fact that it replays the movie after it finishes the first time. It's great for having on in the background while I'm studying. I wish it had wireless, but the USB makes it possible to make it wireless. Good Value.
