Very deceptive! Very Disappointed!

I have never been more deceived by a product description! The box lists it's applications and even on the stores website it says, "built in wifi". There is no built in wifi! You have to buy a wifi dongle or use an ethernet cord. If it's not going to come with the wifi access, don't lead me to believe it does.
Cons: wifi dongle

Hi, Thank you for reaching out to us with regards to the Philips Blu-ray Disc/ DVD player DivX plus HD USB2.0 Media Link (BDP2100). We would like to bring to your notice that the Product does not have Wi-Fi capability however it does support a hard wired internet connection for live streaming of applications such as Netflix. nowhere on the packaging does the product indicate that it does not come with the required cables to make it actually function. given to my parents as a christmas gift and they were very disappointed that they could not hook it up until the stores open again and they can purchase cables! i would never have assumed that it would not come with some sort of cable to hook it up out of the box. it should have AT LEAST been indicated that i would need to buy one.
Pros: maybe it will be awesome once it can be hooked up, it's not on fire, but that could be because we can't hook it up
Cons: does not come with cables to hook it up, does not tell you that you won't be able to use it, until you buy more stuff, can't watch elf, christmas is ruined

Waste of time, money and energy

No where on the box does it say requires additional cables. I tried to set it up using video outlet but could not get the sound to work even though I could see the picture. Went back to the store to buy and HDMI cable and now I can't even get a picture. The eject button doesn't work until you press it over 5 times. I've wasted time, effort, money and gas trying to get this useless product to work. Taking it back tomorrow: a third trip to the store. I will not be purchasing another Philips product.

Nothing great about it

First off turning it on is very very slow. Second the disc tray takes forever to open. Third when you try to play a movie it says unknown disc or no disc. Only had the blu-player a week. It's nothing but trash and I recommend no one to buy it. It's not worth the your time or money.

Requires extra purchase for Netflix, etc.

This device is a local only DVD player. Had I known that an additional purchase was required to use the Netflix, and other wireless features, I would not have purchased this model. I was setting it up on a Sunday night, anxious to watch Netflix, and no can do!
Probably the last device labeled Philips that I will buy.
Pros: easy hook up
Cons: all that you need is not in the box.

No dongle?

Doesn't say it doesn't have one until you get it home. Then there is no recommendation on what to buy. I am taking it back and will never buy a Phillips product again. So lame and infuriating.

Great Value

This blue-ray player works great and is relatively inexpensive, making it a great value for the money. The one draw back is that the Wi-Fi reuqires a dongle, but that is not indicated in the manual, nor is it on the box. When I tried to connect to my network, it showed on the screen that no dongle was found. I picked up a generic dongle, but it was not supported, so i had to order the specific model Philips has. A bit more expensive, but it works.
Cons: wi-fi requires a dongle, generic dongle not supported.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hunk of junk

This blu ray player doesn't come with the required cables, and will only hook into your net work with a wired connection. NOT WIRELESS! I really feel this should be clearly labeled on the box. Very annoying.......now another trip to the store to return this junk, and purchase a real blu ray player.
