This product did not specify on the outside of the box that I required the HDMI connection cord or a 'dongle' -- what a hassle setting this product up.

Boy did i get an education for something thats suppost to be so simple, i was pulling out my hair by the time i went back to the store i purchased your product to return it . Never heard of a dongle before. Why would a company sell an item that needs so many other items one has to go back to the store in order for product to work. Dongle, HDmI1 cord. enough

box and all information provided by company misleading

To improve this product it should list on the box ALL the items you need to buy to make it do all the things it says on the box. We made a second trip to store for cable and will have to make additional trip to buy item to connect to internet. Why can't they list that on the box. The price is low because it doesn't include all the parts.
Cons: doesn't include parts needed to make work

Hello, thank you for reaching out to us with your feedback. We’re sorry that you are not having a good experience with our BluRay player. The reason why you need to purchase an additional item for internet connection is that it does not have a built-in WiFi. All it needs is either a wired internet connection or a usb dongle to connect it to the internet. However, we would also like to inform you that we have a range of BluRay players which have built-in WiFi:

No wifi technology

I bought this product because I thought it had wifi technology and with that the capability of Netflix for my son to watch Diego and umizoomi. Can't connect to wifi. Waste of time and money. Who wants to buy a product that promises something you have to get through another purchased product not specified. There is no directions at all to know this or to set up. All these comments except the positive on is true. Ps I have a wireless LAN
Pros: it plugs up it plays dvds, it plays dvds
Cons: no directions, no wifi therefore no netflix or youtube, have to get a doodle for this internet wifi to wor

Great design, horrible performance

I like the ease of use and the design. They are both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate and understand. The problem is the player often doesn't work. When using the netlflix app on it it will often lock up ruining any potential experience. In addition there is a horrible lag that is involved any time you attempt to use the remote making pausing difficult especially when it is locking up. This also applies to the start up, where it will immediately choose to start the dvd if one is in it. Now this can sometimes be solved by restarting the software, but I don't think you should have to unplug a piece of electronics to have a possibility of using it properly. If I had to guess someone rushed the software without bothering to ensure quality. It is a decent dvd player, but when it comes to the apps it fails to live up to any expectations.
Pros: easy to use, nice design
Cons: doesn't perform the apps and locks up

I Was looking for a something to use instead of my PS3 in the living room for Blueray, Netfix and Downloaded movies. I read the review here and I had no problems with it at all. plugged in an Ethernet cable, Plugged into my tv and powered up and off I went. Blue Ray was clean and clear. Netflix on the first run was a little slow abut after I logged in I started fine. I rebooted to see if was still lagging and was a lot faster. I tried a movie I had on a usb stik and worked great.
I then wanted to play something on my PS3 and it said unable to play format. It was an AVI file. So I decided to try it on the Philips 1080p DVD/Blu-ray Player. and worked flawlessly.
Plays files My PS3 cant. I was impressed.
Pros: works great for everything
Cons: design looks a little cheap but works fantastic!
I would recommend this to a friend!
