It's a Good Refrigerator

I bought this about a month ago. It's a pretty standard, white, top-bottom refrigerator. The refrigerator keeps food cold and safe to eat. The freezer keeps my ice cream frozen, which is the way I like it. You may prefer your food less cold and your ice cream less frozen. In which case, you can control how cold it gets inside by manipulating some dials and knobs, which is always fun. It's a bit noisier than I expected, but so far no one has been upset or forced to flee because of this. The ice maker, true to its name, makes ice. As noted above, this is a white refrigerator. If you prefer green, blue, or maybe yellow refrigerators, this is not the refrigerator for you. Otherwise, it's a perfectly fine and affordable refrigerator.

Door Shelve Poorly Designed REALLY expected better

We wanted a good basic model fridge when our 20 year old GE fridge died. Did not research at all because we had been so very pleased with the last one. Things have changed - lots of plastic, crisper drawer cracked after 2 weeks of use, door shelves have fallen out 4 times in 9 months - would not ever THINK to put gallon liquids on door shelves. Not as quiet as I had hoped it would be. Ease of cleaning is GREAT for the fridge but not very helpful for the mess on the floor. This time glass was broken and child opening the fridge was barefoot. I will be making calls tomorrow but do not expect much help or concern on GE's part.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not liking this refrig!

No light in the freezer; freezer space really small for this size refrig; very noisy for what is supposed to be a quieter, better model. Have had service here already due to fan noise and new parts to be ordered. Refrigerator section running really cold and freezing food. Appears you cannot utilize all of the space on the top shelf ---need to leave clearance at the back to avoid frozen food. Overall, for the price, very disappointed.

Have had the refrigerator about two months and would not buy it again. It is the loudest appliance in my house. Was told the noise occurs when Freon is going though the system. It sounds more like torture. The quality is inferior.
