Love my kitchen aid. Have had it for years. However very scary today when the glass bowl just shattered during use. I was baking with my 2yo, lucky he wasn’t cut by it. I will replace with the metal bowl.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had my Kitchen aid for 9.5 years when the original glass Joel broke. I have bought this new glass bowl after some time without one and love the size as well as the lid! I believed I more likely make dough or cream and need to store it in the fridge than needing a bowl that goes in the oven. I’m also happy with the size as I used a spare stainless steel bowl in the interim but it wasn’t 4.7L so making biscuit doughs and cake batters had had splatter before this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed and upset

I bought this bowl on 8th March this year. It was great while it lasted and as per other reviews, the bowl stuck to the bottom of the standmixer.. I read up about this issue and all reports said to oil the bowl with a non food oil, i.e. WD40. I did this after months of frustration and my husband having to remove the bowl for me. Yesterday I used the bowl for the first time since oiling the base and it working happily kneading the dough. Anyway to make a long story short, the bowl slipped out of the holder and broke. I was watching it carefully and and even held on the the machine so It wouldn't walk over the bench top. I was utterly shattered (just like the bowl) and could believe that it happened. After reading the reviews I probably wouldn't have bought the bowl but as you are unable to use metal for sourdough the glass bowl as perfect. (even recommended in sourdough recipes).

See through good but very heavy bowl

Bought this glass bowl which is great to see through all the contents mixing , but it's a very heavy bowl at 2.3 kg on its own ! I wont be reaching to use this often. So good and bad. I can recommend only if you can manage the weight and with contents it will be heavier.

Fabulous see through bowl

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Kitchenaid glass bowl. It allows me to see how well my cake batter is mixing. I also use the glass bowl to marinate fruit in, which makes the lid very handy, as there's no plastic. The pouring lip is perfect. Best purchase ever !! Next to my Kitchenaid mixer.
