Motor gave up within 1 year of use

I received as a graduation gift. Within one year of using, the motor started to weaken and is clearly over worked on a simple cookie dough batter. Very disappointing. I called the customer service and they were no help. Frustrating for such an expensive item. My grandmothers original kitchen aid still works, so I clearly got a lemon, but am frustrated with lack of customer service.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I also have the pasta rollers and it makes making pasta so much easier. I use it for everything. I make bread, cookies, cake and rolls with it. One of the best purchases I have ever made.
