Thoughtful Design

We have had most of the name brand coffee makers and this one is number one due to its elegant and functional design.
The water tank, coffee basket, and glass pot are all easy to access, remove and fill. This is small appliance design at its best. Kudos to the design team and to Kitchenaid.

I have purchased numerous coffee makers, from the simplest to use (turn it on and it perks) to the most features (you need a degree to operate) with mixed results, either the coffee is too strong or too weak. The KitchenAid coffee maker is simple to use, mainly because the directions are accurate and uncompicated, and I have at last been able to make a perfect cup of coffee.
The water carafe is easy to read and accurate. At first I was slightly hendered because the water level is towards the back, but I resolved that by repositioning it. The big bonus here is that I can remove the carafe from the machine and clean it easily.
The coffee maker is also very fast to brew a pot. It has a soft beep when it begins brewing, it beeps when it is complete, and then it stays hot for 2 hours and beeps when it turns itself off. Or you can easily turn it off when your done.
The machine is very attractive. It is larger than my other pots have been, but I find it sits very nicely on my counter, and it easy to keep clean.
I also like the replaceable charcoal filters. I think this has really improved the taste of my coffee.
One of the best features is how perfectly the coffee filters sit in the holder, and it never colapses on the sides. I have had NO grounds in the bottom of the pot, and the filter holder is easily removed for cleaning.
As a whole, this machine is perfect. I intend to buy my parents one for Christmas!

What a beautiful design. I chose this awesome coffee pot in expresso and it is so pretty in my kitchen with the cherrry cabinets. My FAVORITE feature is the REMOVABLE water tank. I am a clean freak and I love this feature because I can actually clean the tank. In conventional coffee pots you can't even see inside so you dont know what kind of bacteria is growing in there. And you keep your coffee pot for years. UGH. The tank has a sturdy handle. You just pick up the tank fill it with water and replace it. You dont even remove the carafe. And there is no dripping. I love it What more can I say.

Auto Brew Does not Work

Original coffee maker had a bad LCD display and the auto brew did not work according to the manual. KitchenAid promptly sent out another maker. The LCD worked fine but the auto brew still did not work as advertised. Called KitchenAid again about the auto brew feature not working and was told that it should work as described in the instructions. They will send us another unit again. received the next new maker and tried the auto brew feature which still did not work as described. Since my wife likes the red coffee maker and has gotten use to setting the auto brew manually each night, we will not call KitchenAid about the problem again. But had to write this review to let other people know exactly what they are buying.
Pros: Design, the red coffee maker looks great on the counter
Cons: auto brew feature does not work as advertised.

worst coffee maker ever

I bought this two weeks ago and every time it brews it unlatches itself from the filter holder and spills coffee grounds and coffee every where! This is a garbage product and for the money you spend you would think it would work! Very dissapointed in Kitchenaid and there products!
