Great looking and good performance

I bought this coffee maker to replace a Cuisinart Brew Central that I'd had for a number of years before it stopped working. I've had the KitchenAid for a couple of months so far and really like it a lot. It's very easy to use and clean. I really like the built-in water filter and removable water tank. it looks great and it brews a good pot of coffee. I highly recommend it.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Convenient Features
I would recommend this to a friend!

Had this coffee maker for not even 2 months and it will not brew anymore. This is after we returned the same exact one for the display screen going blank. I would not try this again if it was given to me.

Saw this on my cousins counter,14 cup was what I need for family and pool parties, coffee was excellent and the keep warm feature as well as the beautiful red colour convinced me I had to have one.Had to wait for a return trip to get one as could not find a 14 cup or red one in Canada in my area.

sounds great on paper, but here's my experience:
PROS:
- looks nice
- the removable water tank is easy to use and filling it up in the sink is much classier than filling up the carafe with water and then aim-pouring it into the back and making a mess of things
- the coffee it makes tastes like coffee
CONS:
- the little charcoal filter doodad pops free a lot and ends up floating aimlessly around in the water until i stick it back in its proper place. have to do that about once a week.
- manual page 13: "to reactivate the programmed time, press and hold the BREW button. the "Auto" indicator will turn on and the coffee maker will begin brewing at the programmed time". this does not work. in order to use the Auto/Program brew, i have to go through the entire menu sequence each and every time from scratch (menu menu menu menu plus set set set set set set ... whatever).
- it's allegedly a 14 cup maker, but i have a kitchenaid 12 cup bean grinder and sometimes that 12 cups worth of ground beans is apparently too much for the KCM1402 and it spills out all over the place. i'm careful to not overgrind the beans, and make effort to grind them to the same degree consistently. this particular failure is not predictable at all, so i have only been using 10 cups worth of beans/water to avoid it.
- the "you can remove the carafe while it is still brewing because of the fancy pushbutton lever plug in the bean basket" feature does not work. rather than stopping the flow of coffee when i remove the carafe, it, well, does nothing other than leak hot coffee onto the warmer plate. calling it a drip or dribble would be an understatement - it's as if there's no such mechanism in place at all.
- i can't turn off Clean mode. i did the first Clean cycle today and in despite of the manual saying, on page 14: "6. ... Once the cleaning cycle is complete, the "Clean" indicator will turn off", it does not. i just finished my fourth run of a full 14 cup tank of water and the Clean light is still on.
$119 MSRP for a coffee maker that alleges to be able to do 2 cups more than average but only reliably does 2 cups less, is cumbersome to tell "please just make coffee in the morning again at the time i told you last time", and is now perpetually stuck in Clean mode?
should've listened to my wife and just bought an ugly cheapo.

I really like my coffee maker, because the container for the water is removable and easy to fill and put back into place.

I bought this coffeemaker. It lasted less than one week before it broke. I was told it will take 6 to 8 weeks to replace. Don't buy KitchenAid!

My husband and I love our coffee. We like a lot of coffee, so this 14 cup machine is perfect for us. We grind our beans freshly, and make the coffee with the Bold feature and use the high heat setting to keep it hot. Everything works well.
