I haven't had this for one year yet and for the past 6 or so months, it has gotten worse! The buttons on the player itself are cheap and don't work well. The remote is just as bad. The Netflix freezes after the first movie watched. Then just when I couldn't get more upset about this, it won't turn off! I have to unplug it to turn it off! I will never buy a Philips again!
Cons: everything!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Barely works 1/8 of the time. Lags when you push buttons to operate on both unit and remote, lags while playing media or on wifi, random loss of audio, unit will not power off and has to be unplugged. The absolute worst electronic device I have ever experienced and I mean out of every single electronic device ever!
Pros: not one single thing!
Cons: everything about it is bad!

Terrible product - JUNK

The buttons on the main unit are cheap and unreliable. Cannot even get the DVD door to open! I've had more trouble in just the basic operation of this DVD then any other that I've had. I would never recommend this unit to anyone. We have had it for less then a year and will be following up with the supplier.

Netflix will not work

Bought this product very recently. Have been using it for about 3-4 months. Netflix has always been slow, constantly updating, which interrupts the shows that you are currently watching. Now, Netflix will not work at all, and there is no software update to help solve the problem. Do not waste your money on this product.
Pros: compact in size
Cons: netflix will not work, software update not included for this model

Good Picture Quality vs Cost

The Fidelio blu-ray/dvd player

This is absolutely the worse player ever!
It is not reliable. Within the 1st year, it has broken down 3 times.
The follow-up service on getting this fixed is just as horrible.
Definitely a lemon! It is not even worth a 1 star rating!
I'm off this brand for good!

This device is not easy to use so I have only turned it on about 15 times in the past year. The remote no longer works so it is now trash! Spend a little more and get something else. I will never buy Philips again.

Looks good, freezes often

The Blu-Ray player is nice, and has good features, but I've had the player a week, and it freezes often, mostly while using Netflix. To date, I haven't had any problems while in the middle of watching discs (blu-ray or DVD), but I have had trouble a couple of times while starting Blu-ray discs.
