A wonderful camera for beginners with room to grow! My only promblem is that it is slightly loud and I can't take pictures of my sleeping baby without fear of waking him!
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: noisy

Very good camera. If you have difficulty figuring it out as far as fuctioning, youtube has some great videos that will walk you through a introductory using session that I found to be helpful and easier for me than to read the manual and trying to go from there....but some people don't have that problem...so whatever works for you, but this camera is great and the prints are great!

Even though I am still learning all the settings and controls on this camera, I LOVE IT ALREADY!! For the money, you can't beat the quality, ease and feel. I am not very camera savvy but smart so I am learning quickly how to master this outstanding camera and can't wait until I do because the pictures that I have just taken in the learning process are amazing and unbeatable. I can't wait to get the additional lenses so that I can further enhance this camera and my techniques and start making some incredible memories of my family. Also, so far, the Canon customer service has been AWESOME!!! With the right lenses and accessories I think that I can be taking pro quality pictures in no time....buy it and you won't be sorry.
Pros: cost, picture quality, ease of use, customer service, great affordable accessories, product quality
Cons: none so far

I cannot tell you enough about how great this camera is. I needed something that was going to allow me to capture my boys sports events without any lag time or loss of quality. Photography has always been a hobby for me but i found myself bringing this camera everywhere. I would end up taking 500 pictures before i knew it and each picture was better than the next. The sports feature allowed me to just keeping snapping away. There is a ton of features and would strongly suggest you play around with them all. Many times I found that if a picture didn't come out right that i didn't have the settings adjusted properly and was no fault of the camera itself. As an IT admin, i did plenty of research before making this purchase. This was the best camera in it's price range and gave the most for your money.

Excellent beginning DSLR

This is my first DSLR. I did a lot of research before chosing this camera and I could not be happier with my choice. The advantages I get over point & shoot cameras are astonishing, even with the lower grade lens the quality is far superior to what I was use to before. Battery life is almost unbelievable. I was use to changing batteries after a few hours of shooting, now I can shoot all day with no problem. My best advice to anyone moving up to a DSLR is watch the tutorials then practice with the different shooting modes, you will be off the full auto mode in no time and never want to use it again.
Pros: battery life, easy to use

Great Product

I am new to SLR's and have only owned a "point and shoot" up to now. But I wanted better quality than what I was getting so decided to go "downtown" and buy the Rebel xsi with 18-270mm zoom. I have found it easy to use, light to handle and quick on response. I took pictures at a party and could put it on automatic (until I read the manual and learned more about the camera) and had a great time. The pictures turned out great and everyone thought I'd been doing this for a long time. I am very happy and look forward to learning more about this item.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
