My 1st Blu Ray player

Since I have never had a blu ray player, I only have my DVD player to compare with. Picture and sound quality of Blu Ray and DVD disk playing is excellent. Setting up for us on a wifi network and playing streaming Netflix movie is super easy. Picture quality of Netflix movies is variable an appears to be dependent on the speed of the internet signal I get. I'm not sure if it's Netflix or the quality of the internet source. I don't have problems with crashing like I did originally after doing a connection reboot as recommended by Philips support. The support service from Philips was excellent. My only complain is with the performance of the remote which seems slow at times.
Pros: great picture & sound quality, ability to play disks or netflix
Cons: slow & poor response remote
I would recommend this to a friend!

Mixed. Good visuals but flawed mechanics

This item was a gift several years ago. I liked it but it has always "stuck" when opening or closing to insert/remove discs. It was a nuisance, but until this week, always eventually would open after numerous attempts. This week it simply will not open.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
