POOR RELIABILITY

We have been long time loyal GE appliance buyers, but this refrigerator is unreliable.
Every 2-3 years the refrigerator stops cooling properly. It takes a week to get an appointment & food is ruined. CS is nice but unable to provide a credit on this problem.

Terrible Quality

When I received the refrigerator, one of the wire shelves in the freezer was not wide enough so it kept falling and was unusable. Several repairmen were unable to help. I got replacement shelves, but same problem. Then the condenser in the fridge went out after two years. I had to pay for a new condenser, it was installed but still no fridge. I was without a fridge for 7 days. Seems the repairmen installed the condenser but forgot to hook it up. I lost lots of food and at the same time my stove hood broke. After having GE appliances all my life, I would never buy another. I was forced to buy the protection plan just to be sure I did not go broke fixing almost new appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Noisy. Moans & groans. Ice maker does not deliver ice steadly & not much difference between cubed or crushed. Counter depth unit which does restrict capacity in both refrigerator & freezer sides.

Spent big bucks. Had about 5 service calls in the first 6 months. Finally got leaks fixed and temperature under control. Slowest and noisy ice maker.

Like the look but hate the ice maker

I love the way the appliance looks in my new kitchen, but we hate the ice maker. I doesn't seem to produce much ice even after we reduced the freezer temp and used the Quick Ice feature. Takes forever to dispence the ice cubes and is very loud. I can hear someone getting ice even when I'm on the other side of the house.
I don't like that you can't see inside the ice bin without removing it. Even if you are an average user of ice in your home, I wouldn't recommend this model.
