Disaapointed in the performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator was included in the price of our new home 4 years ago. I was surprised to see the selling price on this site because I would have selected something different at that price point. Many of my neighbors, all with the same refrigerator, have had service calls on their fridge (including us). At least one neighbor had to replace their refrigerator because they had so many problems with it resulting in repeated service calls. Our personal observation has included problems with insufficient ice, noisy, inadequate storage in the freezer portion due to the position of the shelving; shelves which continually fall down in the freezer, and no place large enough for a 9x13 pan in the event you want to make a casserole and freeze it. I'm constantly moving things around in the freezer but can't seem to find an organized way of storing everything. Would opt for a french door refrigerator in an effort to improve freezer space. The best feature is the appearance.

We have owned this fridge for 4 years and have replaced everything but the compressor and based on past performance would expect that this would be next. Must say their technicians are courteous and knowledgeable.

Do NOT buy this refrigerator!

GE has definately gone backwards in engineering! We replaced our old GE Profile with this new model and what a mistake. We now get to sit and listen to it make every noise imaginable. The repairman has been out twice and heard some of the noises and said they were normal for that refrigerator. I called the GE customer service and they told me the same thing, yet they are sending the repairman again to install a damper kit. So it's normal noises but you had to make a damper kit, really!!! The second time the repairman came, he had just been to another call for the same thing so I guess the majority of us that have written are in the same boat of paying a lot of money for a really lousy product. Hopefully we can keep someone else from making the same mistake.

We have had to replace the "mother board" computer board 2 times now we simply going to junk it after 4 years!!! Every 3 weeks we have to manually defrost the frig. Extremely disappointed in GE.

This model is not worth anywhere near the cost. We had problems from the beginning. Every component was replaced in the first two years and it continued to fail. It would not hold temperatures to proper levels of 37 and 0. Freezer food was soft, frig food warm. Finally gave up and replaced it with a different brand. GE is not what it once was!

Expensive Furniture

I got this refrigerator with the purchase of my home. It's hands down the worst and non-quality product ever! I've had the compressor replaced once and I need it again! The ice maker doesn't make alot of ice nor does it dispense quickly. Even when it was new, it never got really cold and space is limited. I repeat....DO NOT GET THIS FRIDGE!!!!! Can anyone recommend a good replacement? I'm serious.

Unfortunately, this fridge is only 6 years old and was an appliance which was installed by the developer in our retirement community. When we bought our home, the refrigerator was included by the previous owner. We were told by the realtor that the icemaker doesn't work. This is a noisy machine even without an icemaker. We disconnected the water hose as we now make ice cubes in trays. The water taste is moldy from the water dispenser. Further the capacity of the interior freezer is rediculous and the shelves slip. The fresh food side there is very little room for much of anything. A small watermelon (personal size) eats up half a shelf--are you kidding me? This is being replaced by a stainless steel top freezer refrigerator 23.8-cu.ft. with a single icemaker. The company that has this refrigerator has a better track record and quality over yours.
