[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It keeps the food cold constantly even with 3 teenage boys continuously raiding the fridge. The stainless steel looks fantastic and even the side is stainless steel. The compartment space is small but this is the largest for counter-depth fridge. Beside all the good things about this fridge, there is a problem with the motor noise. It sounds like a train coming to a stop when opened and an engine taking off when closed. It'll takes some time to get use to.

This is a just a so-so refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My main focuses when looking for a refrigerator was (1) it had to be counter-depth and (2) it had to have good storage capacity in the freezer. This refrigerator fit the bill on those two fronts. Based on the reviews I read, I knew I wasn't getting a top-of-the line refrigerator and, after having the refrigerator for several months now, I see that the reviews were right. The refrigerator does make a LOT of noise, but it's very random - there's no pattern. The shelves in the freezer are a bit on the wobbly side, which another reviewer mentioned. Also, the ice cube dispenser is SLOW. There will be plenty of ice in the ice-maker, but it takes forever for the ice to come out. So, overall I would say this is an average arefrigerator. It's not the worst, but there are certainly better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Brand new but ice dispenser doesn't work.

Just purchased a house where this was installed new. Never used. The flapper for the ice dispenser is so tight that the ice falling down doesn't open it and fall out. Bad design.

When cubed ice is selected, dispensing cubes requires energizing a lever behind the ice bucket to open a flap and allow whole cubes to come out. If an ice cube gets behind the ice bucket, this can prevent the lever from working. Remove the ice bucket and check for ice that may have fallen behind the bucket.

Too many repairs

Excellent Refrigerator

I purchased the refrigerator a few years ago and love my GE Café Refrigerator. The interior is spacious and has style. The ice maker is fantastic. The refrigerator is excellent and we are very happy with our GE appliances. My food stays fresher in this refrigerator. With three draws there's plenty of room for cold cuts, eggs, fruit and meats. The two shelves slide out with the middle shelf has a drop down making it easy to store taller items. The refrigerator door shelves hold plenty. A sleek refrigerator that works great. When I was remodeling my kitchen a couple of years ago I just had to have the Café series refrigerator and gas stove.

Terrible product

Just shelled out another $2500 to replace this refrigerator which I purchased in 2010. For the past year, it has not cooled when full of food. Refrig stays at 48, freezer at 24 degrees. GE fixed it once - said it was the light switch. No it wasn’t.
I’m tired of worrying about when it will and will not work.
