Poor design

The device has great potential but poor results. When you are brushing your teeth you can inadvertently cause the mode to change. The mode switch is to sensitive. The brush holds a good charge and fits nicely into you hand. The small brush is great. The quick mode is a very nice feature. Both my wife and I have used a Sonicare for more than 5 years are are sold on them. We recently replaced a Sonicare with a Sonicare HX6972/10 and are both ready to get rid of it.
Nice brush but I am on my third one of this model.

The brush is nice, but I had to call for a replacement after it stopped working after just 3 months. Then, the replacement quit working after 1 month. I finally received another replacement and so far so good. I have had other models of this brand before and haven't had the challenges like this one.
These toothbrushes are much quieter than I expected. From reading other reviews, I expected it to be loud, but I use it in the mornings near my sleeping wife and she sleeps through it just fine.
My 10-year-old daughter uses hers without any problems, too.
At my first regularly scheduled dental cleaning after using this product, I was asked if I had quit drinking coffee. It made that much difference.
Over the years my wife and I have owned 3 or 4 Sonicare toothbrushes. This is a testament as to how well they take care of our teeth. We wish that they lasted a bit longer!
I have been using a Philips sonicare toothbrush for several years now. Since I've been using it, my twice annual dental cleanings have been faster and easier. Great product. Excellent customer support.
I would recommend this to a friend!

too hard to keep clean

brush head must be removed to clean at attachment site - brush head does not fit on device sufficiently and gap fills with toothpaste etc., resulting in foul smelling brush if not cleaned almost daily. previous design fit better. brush heads do not seem designed to pull off and reinstall and break at the base.
