I have been using SoniCare for years. This particular model I did have trouble with but it was still under warranty so was replaced.

Cleans like no other toothbrush.... Took the brush on a 2 week trip without having to charge the battery. Given I travel a great deal this was an important feature.
Pros: easy to travel with, battery life is excellent, cleans like no other
Cons: had to return first unit for warranty service

Sonicare gives me GREAT checkups!

I love my Sonicare Flex Care. Nearly all of the time, I use the Max Care and I get great check ups at my dentist every 6 months. The Flex Care replaced an old model that I could not get brushes for. I would not trade my Flex Care for any other rechargeable toothbrush on the maket. It is great!

Uncomfortable in many ways

I find this brush to be uncomfortable to use -- and the results are not any better than a $2.00 battery-powered brush. Also, too loud -- highly irritating.
And, of course, much too expensive for the quality of the brushing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What has not already been said about the Sonicare? I had been using an of the shelf, battery powered Oral-B, but this is a quantum leap from that. After just one month of use, my dentist says that he sees a marked improvement in my teeth and gums. Just sorry I had not gotten this toothbrush sooner. I like it so much, I bought one for my daughter and my granddaughter.
