The toothbrush works very well. However, it has broken down a number of times.Phillips has continually replaced it at no cost. great service, but there is an obvious fault in the manufacturing of this item.

I have owned and used several different model Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush over the last 7 or 8 years. My first was upon the recommendation of my Dental Hygenist, and that was the Easyclean (rechargeable) model. It lasted the better part of two (2) years and then would no longer hold a charge and/or the on/off switch no longer works (you do not know which actually failed, the switch or the regargeable battery).
I moved onto the Healthy White model and had the same issue after about 18 - 20 months. Either the battery will no longer hold a charge or the on/off switch is (somehow) broken. I am not 'rough' on my toothbrush; and I am the only user. I do not leave it on the charger; fully charge it, and then use it until it indicates that I need to charge it again.
My 3rd Sonicare was the Flexcare 2 Rechargeable model with the UV cleaning element. I absolutely loved the UV cleaning aspect of this toothbrush and would highly recommend that aspect. However the same issue arose with this top-of-the-line model as well; either the battery or the on/off switch failed after about 24 - 26 months. Now when you pay dearly for a toothbrush, you expect to get more than 2 years use out of your 'investment' for better health and clean teeth. I have been sorely disappointed in all three (3) rechargeable versions of the Philips Sonicare toothbrush that I have owned.
After the failure of my top-of-the-line Flexcare 2 with UV cleaning, I downgraded to the Philips Xtreme version. I still get that great Sonicare cleaning, but I certainly do miss the Quadpacer timer, Sensitive mode and the UV cleaning of the brush head. However now I have paid significantly less for this unit and it has lasted me about 30 months. I have opted to use rechargeable batteries, so I charge them on my own outside of the unit itself. Now I will finally learn if in fact it is the on/off switch or the rechargable battery which is faulty in the Sonicare design.
I did have an issue with the Xtreme not working one (1) time, but that was due to incompletely charged batteries. I simply had to remove the batteries, fully charge them, and I was once again good to go. I sure do miss the added features of the top-of-the-line models, but not the price. The product is made in China; maybe that says something about the long-term quality. Yes I would and will buy the product again; but it will be the Xtreme (battery operated) version and not the pricey unreliable top-of-the-line models.
Pros: 3 modes: sensitive massage & clean; uv brush head
Cons: short regarchable battery or on/off switch life

This is my 3rd Sonicare toothbrush over many years. After the 2nd one died I was busy remodeling my house and didn't get around to buying a new one. I developed decay around a 25-year old gold inlay and the plaque on my teeth was far greater than when I useed Mr. Sonicare. I'm now experiencing better gum health and I love the way brushing makes your teeth feel like you've just been to the dentist for a cleaning. Love it!

This product is great. Before I used it, I thought it was over-priced. After using it for a few months, I say it is far "under-priced". The ease of use makes it easy to practice proper dental hygiene. I recommend it to friends that still have old manual brushes that are harder to use and far less effective at protecting an asset that we want to preserve.
I’m very happy with this product. We had a previous electric toothbrush and this one is a great improvement over that one. The company also stands behind their product. We recently had a problem with one of the two toothbrushes we had. It was still under warranty and Phillips gave us new ones. Would highly recommend their products.
This is my second Flexcare and just as good as the first in every way except one. The mode switch seems to be more sensitive and i am changing the mode by mistake as i brush which is very frustrating.
Pros: very good product
Cons: mode switch

I find brushing more effective and have seen positive results in teeth and gum health. I really like the ease of carrying and using the travel case and charger. My wife and I are happy that our dental hygenist recommended the philips sonicare systen to us.
