Good value for money

I purchased this refrigerator to replace an old energy hog. It was also my 1st fridge with an ice/water dispenser. I love that I can get fresh chilled filtered water and cubes. The interior lighting panels in both the freezer and fridge are wonderful. I was a bit concerned about the interior size (smaller than my previous model) but found the benefits -- clear lighting, easy movement of drawers and shelves, easy to clean -- more than outweighed the size. Also love the energy conservation on my bill!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, interior lighting, great filtered ice/water dispenser, easy to clean
I would recommend this to a friend!

Looks good, handles are an issue
on July 8, 2010

We purchased this fridge a week ago and it looks great and seems to perform well. After two days the handles came off which based on other reviews is clearly a design issue. We're going to try to get them fixed but if it is a recurrent problem will be returning it.

RSG257AARS/XAA Review

This is a great fridge. The style and appearance would elevate the look of any kitchen. The consistent use of stainless gives it a uniform look, the ice dispenser doesn't stand out with black trim like on most models. I most like the light sensing interior lights and the removable shelves. There is a wine/beer bottle rack that is very handy as well as a canned soda holder on the door.
Great unit, very pleased with purchase.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive

Turning the door light off
on October 6, 2012
Posted by: turnoffLED
This is not really a review but an explanation of how to turn the door light off, since there is alot of confusion of how to do this on the web...
Bascially, take a real magnet and put it on top of the door hinge, (above the word switch) leave the door open and move the magnet around until you find the spot that makes the light turn off... then turn the door closed slowly to make sure that the light does not turn back on in the process... if the light turns on, then turn the magnet around to the other side and that should take care of it... notes: 1. you have to use a real magnet for this to work, not a paper magnet 2. samsung uses an electric magnet at the door hings which if aligned means that the door is closed and this way the door is tricked

Great Refrigertor

Overall, this frig is great. If someone from Samsung ever looks here, I have 2 complaints/suggestions: 1) The low shelf should be about 1/2 inch taller. You can slide part of the shelf above it out of the way to kake it taller, but with all shelves in place, it should hold a gallon of milk.
2) There should be a way to lock out the temp settings on the front panel seperate from the ice and watter controls. You will want access to the ice and water for all, while not allowing little ones to accidently change the temps.

Not tall enough for milk
on July 12, 2010

It's a well performing fridge and freezer although one thing that continues to be a head scratcher - the shelf height for milk is about 1/4 too low. Putting in and pulling out gallons of milk means lifting the top shelf or twisting/tilting the gallon to get it out. Must not have tested well in the US.
Performance is great but try pulling the ice bucket out and check out the shelf height before you buy.

Love it!

The counter depth was critical due to the layout of my kitchen, and is a perfect fit. The only downside is veggie drawer does not open far enough, difficult to fit a head of lettice into drawer. Also, the shelf that retracts should set higher, taller items such as milk, soda bottles will not fit underneath. Other than those two items I very happy with purchase.

Great Appliance But...

Purchased this refridgerator a year ago and it is a good running spacious appliance. The stainless steel surface does dent quite easily so take care opening it and dont bang it against anything. The top shelf developed a crack in it a few weeks after we bought it. The parts department sent the wrong shelf.
