Had This side by side for 8 mo. No issues--love the LED lighting. Lots of room--keeps food fresh longer. Easy to Clean ! Definitely would recommend .

Big and Beautiful

PROS:
Absolutely love the stylish look of this stainless steel beauty. It's sleek and slim on the outside and big and beautiful on the inside. The door hinges are hidden and so is the grillwork at the bottom of the fridge. The interior LED lighting is very nice. The shelving layout is great. There is so much room! It’s very quite, too. We only hear it when ice is dropping into the container. The ice/water dispenser on the door is attractive and functional. We’re so glad the sides are a gray crackle vs. black. The top is also gray. This is one of the largest and nicest looking side by side counter depth energy star rated refrigerators out there. We are so happy with our purchase.
CONS:
The door handles need to be redesigned or installed at the factory. We read reviews on other sites complaining the handles fall off (before we made our purchase). We found out the hard way that the problem exists when the handles are installed incorrectly. The handles need to slide down on the door clamps. In doing so, you must line up the handles with the clamps, then exert a lot of force to pull the handles down on the clamps until you hear a ‘click’ locking them in place. The whole process makes it way too easy to scratch the refrigerator. The ‘professional installers’ who set up our fridge could not get the handles on. When they finally did, I noticed they had scratched the area directly above the handles. BEWARE…do not remove that protective (shipping) plastic film on your stainless steel fridge until after the handles are installed OR put masking tape all around that area while installing the handles as a precaution. Samsung should redesign the handles so they are a ‘set screw type’ like the ones on their French door style refrigerators. There is a video on the Samsung site for installing these handles. Of course, we saw that after our fiasco. Heaven forbid those handles ever need to be removed. In the video, the guy grabs the handles, pulls them up with such force that they leave major scratches and a big dent in the door!
SUMMARY:
We’ve only had our refrigerator for 2 weeks, but we are very pleased with its looks and how much room there is in both the freezer and fridge. We would highly recommend the counter depth model. We hope this refrigerator will be reliable and keep working for many years. If it does, Samsung has a real winner with the RSG257AARS/XAA.

We purchased our counter depth Samsung side-by-side about six months ago. It replaced an older counter depth refrigerator. Our kitchen is laid out so that a normal depth side-by-side would look ridiculous. There are so many features to love! It has so much more usable space that our last one! The LED lights are great - no dark corners in this fridge! Also, what can I say - it keeps the food just the right temperature and we are finding food stays fresher longer.
At first the stainless seemed difficult to clean - but I found these little wipes in a plastic container at the store and once each week I polish the outside.
Great looking, quiet and works great!

Purchased this refirigerator after reading many reviews on lots of different brands. This replaced a frig that was only 2 years old that had sooo many problems that we had to get rid of it. Love the sleek exterior. Super quiet you almost don't even know its running. Lots of great storage! Ice maker in freezer door gives us much more room than average. The ice and water dispenser is nice and tall for bigger glasses and containers. The only thing I gave 4 stars is the drawers in the frig don't extend all the way out unless you open the door wider and pull upwards. Great frig!! Way to go !!!

We are very pleased with this product. Unlike some of the reviews we find the ice maker works great and is not any more noisy than other brands. The refrigerator itself is the quitest we have owned in 50+ years. Other pluses, digital temperature display, lighting, tall glases fit in dispensor area, seperate temp. settings for ref. and freezer......Only one minus. The design of the pull out drawers needs to be improved as they do not pull out far enough for convenient use. This ref. has only three weeks use and if our opinion changes over time I will update review. Design got only 4 stars because of drawer pull out problem .... but we can live with it.

So Far So Great

Never wrote a review, but this fridge earned it. I've had it for about a week, and so far so great.... I can't even hear it running. It replaced a built-in, counter-depth 19 year old Sub Zero, which couldn't compare with the Samsung, but it may be too early to tell.
I noticed a few reviews mentioned a slow ice maker. Mine seems to keep up just fine.
I'll write another review if things change.

Nice fridge

Overall seems to be a nice refridgerator. We love the lighting inside and space seems ok. Nice large ice/water despenser for larger cups. It doesn't make ice very fast, even on Power Freeze mode. Door wiring could have been routed better. We are unable to install the cover for the wiring because fridge wouldn't fit under cabnets.
