I am very disappointed in this product. Thought this would be great to serve dips etc. There is no on/off feature and no adjustable temp. You must constantly stir or dip burns on the bottom, which I found out after it burned. Electric cord is so short it would not even reach from buffet to wall outlet right at buffet.. Wasted money.
Cons: temp control, cord length, plastic lid
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product for small tasks

I use my Little Dipper to keep gravy warm at every holiday and it never burns it! I have a cute little stainless steel laddle that fits it perfect. I also end up bringing out my 1.5 qt, 4 qt. and 6 qt to help keep the side dishes warm after they are prepared.
Pros: perfect size for small portions.
Cons: i wish the cord was detachable for easier cleanup.

Needs a lid and temp control

A lid is no longer supplied with this. The manufacturer states it does not need a lid to maintain temp. But the lid is not about temperature, its about keeping stuff out of the crock and your food while it sits. Also gets too hot, temp control would be nice.

I used it for the first time today to keep my dip "warm", instead, it made it so hot, no one could eat it right up the warmer, no way to keep it warm, it stuck to the bottom. Then, how to wash it? Oh well.

The little dipper was included with the large crock pot that I bought. I'm not even interested in using it since the bowl is not removable from the heating unit.
