I accidentally wrote a review for the LN46A550 - oops!
I researched 40"+ LCD TV's for a few months and had narrowed it down to this one and a Sony. The Samsung was ranked higher in several reviews and lower in price. After seeing them side-by-side in the store, it was a no-brainer to go with the Samsung. It is very easy to setup. I recommend HDMI cables, but do your research and don't overpay for them. The picture quality is excellent and can be seen clearly from every angle in our family room. HDTV and Blu-Ray look fantastic. The TV does not get warm like plasmas. The remote control does not have the ability to learn other remotes, so that was a little disappointing. The "touch of color" is not a backlight, but rather just coloring in the frame. It looks cool, but is not a light. I am intrigued by the USB wireless capability it has. I don't have the adaptor yet, but apparently you can stream video to it from your PC and other cool stuff! We would definitely buy this TV again!

NEW ERA IN TV LAND
on December 4, 2008

My recent purchase of Samsung LN46A650 has proven to be a hit in this house. Watching movies is like being at a theatre. The detail, sharpness and clarity is the best I have ever seen. The info link is an added feature that allows instant news. I no longer rely on my PC exclusively. I can get the news while I'm watching TV. No doubt this is the best purchase of the year. I saw the Wold Series and while my team was in it, SAMSUNG 46 inch screen made the game just as enjoyable. Can't wait to see the Super Bowl on this fabulous set.

Best bang for the buck

I literally researched high def TVs for almost a year trying to get the best one I possibly could. I wanted an LCD TV because they were generally considered more durable than plasma, especially when playing games or hooking it up to a PC.
However, I was unhappy with the video quality of most affordable high def TVs out there at the time (beginning of 2008). The previous Samsung series and Sony's XBR series were the first two lines to really make high def look good, in my opinion. They were a bit expensive so I waited.
Then I found a great deal on Amazon for the 46 inch Samsung 6 series. It was A LOT cheaper than the Sony and the previous Samsung so I got it.
I have been very happy with it. Disney's Cars looks totally amazing on this TV! I will soon have a PS3 so I can try out Blu-Ray on this beast.
The only knock I can think of is the menu can be pretty sluggish. I guess I also don't like how you can't adjust the volume before the sound kicks in when turning the TV on. Just gotta remember to turn it down before you go to bed.
Other than that, VERY happy with my purchase!

Unbelievable Performance

We knew we were buying one of the best brands and that we would be happy with our purchase but we didn't realize how happy. Every night as we sit & watch our favorite shows and after 6 months ownership we still turn to each other and say things like "look at the depth", "look at the accurate skin tones", "look at there eyes", "it looks like were looking out a window" ,"it's almost 3D". The picture is bright and smooth. I can clearly read tiny print from across the room. When we watch sports the action is smooth and smearless. My husband loves the way the scoreboards on top of the screen actually look like they are floating in mid air. When friends & relatives see it their jaws drop. After my Brother in Law saw it, he had to get one. And then His son in Law got one. We were all Sony people for a long time if that tells you anything. Also lets not forget about the sound. It has an equalizer and Surround sound too! It has many inputs & outputs that should keep any Geek guy happy. We just recently connected our media center PC using an HDMI input and it's just awsome. Now if we miss a show we can go online and watch an episode on our TV in full screen. Were also using an upconvert DVD player & with our 5.1 sound system turned on it's better the then going to the movies. We also have connected the infolink and we can now at the press of a few buttons check on our stocks without having to go online. And it's also great when someone shouts whats the weather for the week, I just hit the infolink and they can see it without me missing any part of the show I'm watching. Also I cannot forget to mention the set even looks good when it's off. The touch of Color is gorgious. It's just enough to give a hint of deep red. It looks great in our oak wall unit and if ya got a cherry unit it's will look even better. So this TV turned out to be the best vacation we ever had. Since we didn't go anywhere this year we used some of our vacation money for this purchase. Who knows maybe next year we will get a smaller one for the bedroom. Well there are so many other features and good stuff I have to say but I could go on all night. So look at all the info on the Samsung site & compare it's performance & value & I'm sure you'll be getting one soon. Enjoy your vacation!

A leap in 1080P

I've always considered myself a discriminate buyer. Researching the products that meet the criteria and specs I desire has always been part of my approach to purchasing a satisfied procduct. The Samsung LN46A650 exceeded my expectations. The 120 Hz, 1080P quality should not be underestimated. The color is brilliant. the crisp detail and quality is amazing. The modern, sleek design complements the room. I matched the system with my PS3 Blue Ray Player and even my regular DVD's improved in detail. Typical of most TV's; the sound system needed enhancement. So I added a BOSE radio system via the aux to round-off the sleek minimial approach to my system and it is a perfect entertainment solution.
