While others seem to be abandoning DLP, this TV is a perfect example of the values, quality, and performance of this technology.
This was an upgrade from a 53" Samsung HDTV, one of the older models that are not LED back-lit.
I originally wanted to switch to a LCD TV because I was contemplating mounting a TV above my fireplace. However, once I was in the store and was looking at the LCD tv's (primarily Samsung), I spotted this beautiful HUGE screen off in the corner. I was surprised to see a Samsung TV on display, and the 61" was priced comparably to the 52" LCD TV's!!!
The decision was instantaneous, I had to have this TV, and I have never looked back. The picture quality is superb, and the IMAX scenes in The Dark Knight on Blu-ray never looked this good!! (except in an IMAX theater of course!).
I would recommend this to a friend!

A great HDTV

I have owned this HDTV for 5 months now, and it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. The picture is breathtaking and the color is spot on. I believe I read somewhere that Samsung will not be making LED based DLP hdtv's in the future -- which is sad because this is one great TV.

This is a magnificent! TV i have had this set for 5 months it has been on 24/7 i find it hard to turn it off!! I read that samsung wasn't going to make anymore led dlp. Although this would be good news to the LCD/Plasma crowd but a real bummer for those who will never own a set of this calibar

Wonderful picture, easy to use connections, and menu screens. Only negative, set takes a while to find signals when first turned on.

Great TV,...But

I like this TV, Nice Big Picture, was a great value when I purchased it. Easy access to hook up all my components IE: Cable Box, PS3, Surround Sound system. Now the but comes, within the first 3 months of having the TV, the picture would not come on, it would cycle a few times, then finally come on. Eventually it would take more cycles to come on, and finally it wouldn't come on at all and would have to be unplugged to stop the cycling. Tech support was helpful and got a repairman out quickly to fix the problem by installing some new PC boards and cables. Now it has been about 3 months and it is starting to do the cycling thing again. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come. Because I really like this TV other than the above issue.
