i highly recommend this tv to anyone looking to buy a tv with
excellent picture and value. i researched this model for 10 months before buying. my wife, who doesn't even like tv, wil sit down often just because of the awesome picture quality.
with 4ms response and 120hz the picture is flawless. i anticipate many years of tv enjoyment with the ln52a650. don't hesitate to buy this one.

I have this TV now for a year and its still the best one for me. Looks great in my living room. Family and friends always comment on how beautiful it is. The picture is great,sharp and clear. Direct TV looks nice. Blu rays look outstanding with my PS3. If you can still find this set don't hesitate, buy it now!

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS TV. I WAS A BIG TIME SONY FAN AND I SWITCHED TO SAMSUNG AFTER I STEPPED IN TO A FRY'S ELECTRONICS STORE AND SEEN THE SAMSUNG LN52A650 AND THE SONY KDL52XBR6 NEXT TO EACH OTHER I SEEN THAT THE SAMSUNG BEAT THE SONY IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE ABOUT THIS TV IS THAT THE CONTROL PANEL IN THE FRONT OF THE TV DOES NOT LIGHT UP SO I CANT SEE THE VOLUME/CHANNEL/POWER BUTTON ON THE TV. SO I AM OBLIGATED TO USE THE REMOTE.
I would recommend this to a friend!

"I just bought this TV and I feel like this was a great investment for our home theater. Picture quality is tops and it has very nice features.
You can view the picture from all sides of the room without any problems. We hooked up our Playstation 3 to it and it is awesome to play video games on it and to watch blu-ray movies on it. The picture is so clear, you feel like you are part of the movie. The only regret I have is I wish we could have afforded a bigger TV."

The new standard for television

The best product you could find for the money. Outstanding color saturation and contrast detail. No problems with bluring from fast action signals. The most pleasant surprise was sound quality, I have a Samsung HT-X810T theater hooked to it but seldom use it for regular braodcasting. You simply don't need it!!

Great TV -1 tiny flaw - not TV related

I've had the set for 6 months. The best TV I've seen. Rated it 5 stars. Now for the tiny flaw (I'm calling tomorrow to see if it can be fixed).
On the bottom of the frame (plastic, or whatever material). little tiny stress cracks (my definition) are starting to show. When the sun, or light hits them just right, they look like about 6 or 7 tiny ant size specks on the bottom of the frame. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. The frame has never been touched or come in contact with anything. It's like a plastic glass with those tiny cracks in it (about 6 or 7 at the moment). (It wouldn't stop me from giving the set a 5 star rating).

52A650 Top Rated by Consumer Reports

This set is almost perfect in every respect. CR had it rated as #1 within the 52" LCD class in late 2008. Here's my take on it.
The picture is great, the presets don't need to be changed, they got it right on this set. I'm only using Component Video cables from my DVD player and its still amazing, can't wait to upgrade to HDMi cables.
On-screen menu's are easy to use. Variety of inputs/outputs is plentiful. The 'Touch of Color,' in this case the color red they infused into the frame is appealing, although still looks black in dark rooms.
The remote is very simple to use, and lites up in the dark. My only complaint is the iPod like track wheel is a little unresponsive.
CR also left out the glare issue on the screen from bright lite sources in the room. This however can be alleviated by careful placement and blocking out the bright lite sources. Viewing at night is flawless!!!
All in all, this set is worth the investement, I would highly recomment it to anyone! Samsung in general has done very well in the Consumer Reports Ratings of LCD TV's at all sizes. Enjoy!!!

Firmware update does not fix shutoff problem

For the first couple months the shutoff problem only affected my TV once or twice a week. Now everytime I turn my TV on it turns itself on and off over and over. Everytime I try to watch it it gets worse.
So I followed the instructions from this website and updated the firmware. Problem still not fixed.
Honestly this is a great TV with a wonderful picture, but this shutoff problem is a major issue and until Samsung does something to fix it I will not recommend it to anyone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
