This coffee maker is appropriate for our family of two. Easy to set up. Easy to make. Easy to clean. It occupies a very small portion of our counter, and when not in use, slides into the corner unplugged. We drink Community Coffee, ground, dark roast, signature blend, black. It is very easy to make a second pot on mornings that require an extra kick.
I would recommend this to a friend!

only worked for 6 months

Started out good then stopped working after 6 months. Due to the 2 year warranty, I will receive another one but I don't expect it to work for more than 6 months and that will be the end for me.

taste of plastic in every cup

After dripping over a dozen pots of coffee in this brand new coffee pot, I'm tossing it to the curb. The smell and taste of plastic makes the coffee undrinkable. I've tried baking soda, white vinegar, freshly ground coffee beans, and just plain water in an attempt to get rid of the chemical/plastic/noxious taste this coffee maker produces with every pot. I want my money back! And I want to stop wasting time, and coffee beans, and vinegar, and baking soda, and water! on this smelly piece of junk.

Didn't last long

Got this as a gift and not even 2 weeks later it was making loud popping noises at the end of brewing. This morning an extra loud pop and now when I go to try to make more coffee, it leaves water coming out of the bottom of the machine. Don't know what happened, but the coffee maker is dead now!

I've bought many Black & Decker products over the years and have found this to be a very reliable brand - until now. This coffee maker is no longer working properly and it's less than 1 year old. If I only want to make 3 or 4 cups - the reservoir doesn't fully empty during brewing. I'm going to check the service website to see if I can get a replacement. Other than that, I was very happy - nice small footprint - no issues with "plastic smell" as many others noted. Another feature I like is that the unit seems to be weighted so that when I use the on/off switch, it doesn't push the unit across my counter top. Lots of great features - but what happened to the inner works?

I bought this about 2 weeks ago and used it roughly 7 times before one morning randomly it decided to stop working. No brewing or heat. Took it back to target for an even exchange. Hoping this one lasts longer!

Good, but sour coffee!?

I've had this for several months. I only bought white because it's all the store had. I would prefer black! The only complaint I have is the coffee tastes sour. Every. Time. I have literally bought about 10 different types of coffee, used faucet water and filtered, and nothing seems to make the coffee taste good. I scrolled though the reviews, but out of all the complaints I haven't seen this one yet. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong?! I don't know, but it's annoying when I can't have coffee because it tastes gross and I wasted money on this cheap machine that doesn't work how I'd like it to! I wish I would have just spent more for a better machine. I can't return this one because it's been too long, so yay for me. Money down the drain.
