I Like It! I Like It!

This is a great camera for the price! More features than one might use, but they are there just in case. I have owned Canon Cameras in the past. And I wish I had up-graded sooner. Really didn't know what I was missing out on.....only draw back is that it is slow to recover for the next shot.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellant Choice

i bought my a590is in november and i must say it is the best camera i could have purchased for the price. i love the ease of use and the fact that it has manual as well as auto controls so that i can decide how i want to take the picture. i like the fact that it is a bit heavier than some others, it feels more like a camera than a plastic toy. i also like that it gives plenty of notice when the batteries are getting low, not just low battery one second and no battery the next. all in all i would certainly recommend this camera to anyone, as it is an excellant choice.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Most Excellent Deal 2008-2009

This is the first Digital camera that I actually own, I'm used to various size film format for portrait photography. I was initially intimidated by the user manual, but after using the camera and re-reading the manual, it all became easy. For someone that has used cameras with only manual features, I found this camera to be very easy to use. the controls are simple and easy to set for just about any lighting condition you may want to shoot in. The SD card that came with it is a joke (bad move Canon) I purchased a 4GB high speed card and am very happy with it.
I have used other cameras shaped like a deck of cards by other manufacturers and found the controls difficult to use, I don't like them. This one looks like a camera and feels good in my hands. The Camera works with other brand software as well, even with my cell phone software. You can't get a better camera for the price. NiMH Rechargeable batteries highly Recommended.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: cheap sd card

"Extreme" Compact Replacement
on February 16, 2009

I purchased the A590 as a replacement for 2 older "A" series Canons that belong to my wife. The older "A"s were starting to fail after many years of faithful service, and the only logical thing to do was to buy another new "A" to replace them. The A590 couldn't have been a better choice. My wife loves the ease of use, the ability to take wonderfully sharp and clear pictures with no "fancy settings". The advanced settings are there of course, but if need be, this camera is ready for action simply by turning it on.
I felt the price was very reasonable considering the specifications of the camera. I use a Canon Rebel xti and the photos from this compact are comparable in quality to my Rebel. I would recommend it to anyone needing an easy, compact, well-featured camera.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Great Value for the Price

I bought this camera for a trip to France and it performed beautifully. Only two points I want to make: First, I was glad it had a viewfinder since in bright light the image in the LCD was invisible. Second, I discovered that more of the image is in the frame than the LCD shows and that's without using the wide angle feature. I'm a complete novice in photography but I was extremely pleased that the pictures I took turned out so well.
Pros: easy to use, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: dim lcd in very bright light
