Great first time digital camera

The Canon Powershot A590 is my first digital camera and I LOVE it. Its features are easy to use. I've never even read the manual.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Great Camera

I purchased a pair of these cameras, one to give and one to keep. I've owned several digital cameras since the vga resolution days and this has been the best one yet. The details are great and the colors vivid. I get several months use out of lithium batteries with it, probably 1500+ pix, mostly without flash but with the display and AF light turned on. There are some advanced settings available and the basic settings are pretty reliably good. The video is good for basic internet sharing but not spectacular as is expected. The only thing I'd like different would be to have a separate self timer button and a tackier surface for the grip, but that's nit-picking.
Pros: good picture quality, good battery life
Cons: 4x zoom at least it's optical though

Completely in LOVE with it

I bought the Canon PowerShot A590 IS camera in Nov. 2008 and I am very pleased with it. Yesterday I took 700+ photos on the AUTO setting outside in sunlight and dappled shade. Every single photo is crystal clear.
My worst complaint is the user guide: "Zoom" is under "Digital Zoom" and "Timer" is under "Self Timer." Since these are its worst features, I give it five stars.

Simple smart camera

This is a simple camera that makes my pictures look so much better then the two year old digital camera it replaces.
Also I really like the built in view finder. Many cameras today do not have that. IF you are taking pictures outside many times on a sunny day the sun will wash out the big LCD display and you have to guess at the shot.
But with the view finder its not a problem.

Great Camera

This is overall a great camera. It takes nice sharp picture, has good pixels that enlarges into nice size sharp pictures. Has nice size buttons and a large viewer. Also has the eye viewer. Overall it is a camera well worth owning.

Cons: Complicated controls/menu, no internal memory, have to delete each picture seperately

This is my third Canon point and shoot digital, it is easy to operate and gets great results for minimal cost. Great for ease of understanding and carrying anyplace.

Really satisfied with this camera. It uses up battery life but the manual explains that viewing the pictures will do this so I expected as much. I keep extra charged ones on-hand. Pictures are real good. I'll probably never use all the functions.
