Best camera owned

I have owned the camera since September and I have had no problems using it. It has a very good battery life and takes excellent pictures every time. One of the best features I like to use is the built in settings for the scene selections like night and the special one for fireworks and snow scene that I used during our December snow storm. With all the pictures I have taken none have been bad. They print out very easy but recommend that you have them done online it is cheaper that way and will save on your printer ink. I bought the camera after the very bad experience with a Kodak digital camera that I tried and returned twice and with no luck. My purchase was made with the Canon name for quality. Now that when I go somewhere to take pictures I have seen that about 90 percent are using a Canon.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: no cons
I would recommend this to a friend!

My Second Canon Digital Camera

This is my second Canon digital camera. My last was the A60. Now with A590 everything is a lot easier to operate and the definition and clarity of the pictures are great. I would like to see Canon stick with more metal than plastic and also with the last camera I had bought several extra lenses. The Canon web site is ok but not great. Looking on the web was good and I was able to find adapter rings to go from the old one to this new one and now able to use other lens, and filters that I owned. If this camera lasts and holds up like the last I look forward to future upgrades and my next purchase.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

I received the A590 IS as a Christmas gift from my kids and have yet to use all of the capabilities. The beauty of this camera is the auto feature which allows you to bypass all of the bells and whistles and use the camera with a point and shoot option. Great zoom capabilities and the auto focus is handy. If you are one of those that like to use built-in features, have at it - the camera comes with a long list of features. Some say it is a little large but I find it a convenient size. Comes with software that can be installed on your computer to assist with downloads and simplify life. A great little camera!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, software
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Purchased this camera Black Friday for my wife after an older digital camera she used started giving us problems. I wanted a camera that would take quality pictures, easy to operate and relativity inexpensive.
No sooner did she got it in her hands, she would not give it back. Set it for Auto mode and the pictures come out great.
Low light pictures have been a problem with older cameras, but not with this one. Auto focus locks on and the picture is fired, coming out very well with an even balance of bright spots and shadows. Battery life is great - one set of (2) AA Ni-MH Energizers rated at 2450 mAh continue to last for over several hundred pictures, even when most pictures were indoor and the flash fired. Rechargeable batteries are a must in these cameras. A real good feature of this camera - in a pinch, you can put regular alkaline AA batteries in and continue to capture pictures!
Want a great, small point-n-shoot camera with some additional creative flexibility - look no further than right here. For the price, you will be hard pressed to find better.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Makes My Pictures Look Professional

The Canon Powershot A590 makes my pictures look like I know what I'm doing! I use the camera mostly on motorcycle trips to scenic destinations on scenic roadways and it's automatic functions and adaptability to different picture scenarios allow me to take magazine quality shots. The clarity of the pictures let me relive every trip again and again. I picked this model specifically because it has an old-fashioned viewfinder, making it easier for near-sighted me to frame the picture best even while wearing my helmet.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, fits in my tankbag!

Fun!

I love the movie setting! A picture may say a thousand words, but a movie can trot out a theme song.
Completely suitable for my casual, point-and-shoot use. ALWAYS sharp for daytime photos-- low-light, of course, needs a tripod. Options are easy to use (for anyone under 40), and the review screen is a nice size. The preset "sunset," "foliage," "snow" settings are a god-send. I also like the manual-zoom option. I've had some randomly great luck with it, even though the zoom view is not quite big enough to judge sharpness out in the field. It is small enough to fit in a pocket, or with all its accessories in a compact camera case, but not so tiny you can't hold onto it. Great size and weight for backpacking, and the fact that it takes easily-available AA batteries is a huge asset. 2 of my friends also have this series, and we are very satisfied with it. We have all entered photos (landscape, water, and flower close-ups) from these cameras into local contests and placed respectably against the big-lens "pros".
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
