My only problem this is the first digital camera i have owned. Been using it about three months. It would be nice if the manual was written in greater detail.
Pros: Bright LCD, excellent image quality
Cons: Short battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's Pretty Good!

I bought a Canon Powershot A590IS 2 days ago. I already had the hang of it after using it for about 1 hour. I don't know ALL the features yet but I think for the price it's amazing! I can't believe this camera didn't cost WAY more.
Video image is AMAZINGLY clear and bright. Zoom is so easy to use.

The only con would be for me right now that I don't know how to upload the photo's I've taken.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, sleek look!

found the camera would eat batteries UNTIL I FOUND ENERGIZER ULTIMATE LITHIUMS. I used them one time and will not ever buy a different one. they last for a VERY long time in this camera. other than the battery and the display size being a little smaller than some of the newer cameras, it is a very good buy for the cost and the features are great.

The Power Shot A590 IS incorporates many features of more expensive cameras at a lower price. Zoom and focus are easy to use. It can record not only stills but video as well. Picture clarity may not be as good as other models but is more than adequate. Flash intensity may be too great at times but can be turned off. Great value for the price.

This camera is AWESOME!! It has so many great features! From the easy mode for beginners to the manual mode for not so beginners! This is my first "good" camera and I really like it...no I take that back..I really LOVE it!

My Canon is my eyes to our outdoor world...

In July of 2007 after a unfortunated chemical fire, I was diagnosed with a condition known as Photophobia and because of it I wear solar shield sunglasses to protect my eyes from all bright light, especially sunlight. These lenses make it totally impossible to see through an aperture or the screen of a camera. So, my Cannon PowerShot A590 IS is truly my sight to our world outdoors. It is not until I load the pics onto a computer do I see what the camera had captured and I am in awe and that is when my artistic talent emerges. Before the fire I was a well known published mixed media artist. Now, I have a new platform to have my artwork viewed as a digital photographer with an up and coming webpage so I can share with others what my Cannon PowerShot A590 IS has done for me.

Cons: zoom quality is grainy.
