Great piece of machine in a very compact body. The size of this camera and its weight are amazing considering the features packed in it and all for a pretty affordable price!
Pros: easy to use, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, Short battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very short battery life! I have a A580 which is great, but A590 is very short on battery life. Don't use flash if you can.
Cons: Short battery life

Poor battery life

Very poor battery life with A590is Tells you to replace batteries, when you put ing new batteries. if you power back on right away it might work, and give normal battery indication or it might say replace batteries again. after a second or third try, you can take pictures and it has normal battery indication, This is the same problem I had with canon A560. It stopped working all together with replace batteries. Does canon have a problem with sensing battery life? Would a software update be needed? The camera takes great pictures and has great features.
Pros: excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, auto rotate of pictures, nice movies
Cons: Short battery life, poor battery sensing
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cons: video, battery life, flash charge time, tripod socket location
No complaint on A590is at this price. Somehow I feel A570is outperforms it in some areas despite of 1MP less.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Best "computer" Camera Ever!

This Canon camera has got to be the best camera ever. I am not a very "computer" person but I had to keep up with co-workers digital art work. So, I got this camera for myself just to take doggie pictures and now I can not put it down! I have it with me all the time and I must say it is so very easy to use. Take pictures and bamm they are on the computer ready to be shared, I love it. Now that Christmas is here look out family here I come!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable, uploading pictures to computer
I would recommend this to a friend!

Didn't last as long as I would have liked :(

It does take excellent pictures. The time between pictures with flash is long, though. Which is difficult when taking pictures indoors or at night, especially with small children. I like the face recognition feature. All the different modes and being able to manually change settings is nice. Menus are easy to navigate. I bought this camera in May and the zoom switch (which is plastic) is broken and sticks when trying to zoom in or out. Canon has been great about fixing the problem.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance
I would recommend this to a friend!
