Will last about 1 year

Given the price of the BD-P1500, some may find it okay to use for a full year without any issues. As was the case for me. No issues what so ever, so you rate it 5 star after a couple of months in use. Turns out that new movies, like Public Enemy, comes with a code on them and you have no choice, but to update the firmware. In trying to do so my player goes to all the steps and freezes up as the last step every time. This lady in customer service told me that they will mail me a CD and that will be my only choice. I sense that her CD will freeze, just like mine did as the firmware was downloaded from the net. If that is the last course of action for a customer, then another brand that will last more 1year & 1/2 must be considered.

I got this player to use with my new Samsung TV, however, all of the internet features do not work. The device will not connect o the internet correctly to use the most important features. Updates take hours to complete and frequently require 3-4 times to get it done right, then the "new" features do not show up. Worse, the unit requires an external usb storage device to work correctly and a USB wireless adapter - but there is only one USB port for both nessessary devices - so you can not use all of the functions of the player. Terrible planning and design.

Stops & Stutters while playing DVD and BD. I kept up with all firmware inst. with no problem, however the player never lived up to what was expected a player would do. Perhaps it was a bad FW update, but I shelved it and bought a Panasonic.

This is one Sik Blu-Ray player. Blows others out of the water and well worth the money. And the anylink that goes with my Samsung tv is so cool. Just pop the dvd in and no need to switch sources. Tv knows it's on.

This is m first HD purchase, along with my 40" series 5 lcd. really simple to set up, but it takes forever to load a bluray. although the picture quality is well worth the wait, i ready own a surround sound system (sony 5.1) and it makes my cheap system sound way better as well. Money well spent if you ask me.
I have asked a couple of other people about the time it takes on loading and i hear that all bluray players have the same issue, but i hear they are getting better.
