Our new refrigerator was delivered today. We were unable to find the size we wanted so had to order it from our local appliance store. We have never bought a GE refrigerator before so took the salesmans word that it is a good product . Cannot tell you how surprised we were that there is no light in the Freezer. Also not pleased the sales man did not point that out to us. We would not have ordered the refrigerator if we had known there was no light. We felt the price meant we were getting a quality item. We are happy with the rest of the features and honestly It never occurred to us to ask about a light in the freezer. Will know better next time we buy an appliance and will do our homework.
I received my refrigerator as a way to conserve energy. But it's not like my previous fridge. It lacks space and ability to rearrange to make more space
Just got my new frig today and finished moving my food into it. I have more room than in my French door bottom freezer model! I hated that French door design. Don't get sucked into that "latest rage" in refrigerators! SOOO happy to have just a basic frig that you can SEE and access.
We bought this refrigerator in February, it took over three months to come in to the appliance store for delivery. It makes a lot of noise. The shelves don't slide out, I'd prefer if they did. The shelves also are not easy to adjust and the adjustment choices are limited thus limiting what items can be placed in the box portion of the refrigerator, forcing some things to be placed on the door only. Don't like that. Worst thing of all is the ice maker design. As the ice falls, or is supposed to fall, into the ice container in the refrigerator, a large portion does not make it and it falls behind the ice bin into the bottom portion of the freeze. Big design flaw. Very poor design. I hate it. Also, there is not enough lighting in the refrigerator. No light in the freezer, terrible. And, only one bulb in the refrigerator. Ok in the summer with long days, but awful in the colder months with short days. Can't see what is further back in the freezer or refrigerator sections. Too expensive for the very basic simple features it offers.
I would return this refrigerator if I could. I needed one large enough to fit the space of a side by side and read that top freezer models usually have less repair.... I have had 7 refrigerators in my lifetime and this one is by far the worst design ever. The door is so close to the floor I have injured my foot on it twice. A gallon of milk only fits easily into the door shelf, not the best m place for milk. The shelves are not adjustable and the produce drawers are too narrow and deep. The dairy area has a large space that air goes into..not good for butter or margarine. You have to bend way over to see what is in the back of the shelves...and why can't they make all stainless appliances fingerprint free?? It has a very loud motor. The ice falls behind the ice container. Terrible!!! GE will have to improve if I ever buy another appliance from them
