Had this for three years now and works as good now as on the first day. It doesn't like low powered radio stations so if that's all you got in your area step away from it, but the sound is great and the wife loves to plug her little shuffle into it and listen all day on the weekends.
What's great about it: Works as good as advertised and better.
What's not so great: Static on low powered FM stations.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I get poor radio reception with this unit. Only a handful of stations come in well.
What's great about it: Convenient
What's not so great: Radio reception is poor.

Expected more from Sony

This would be a great radio if I could rotate my kitchen 90 degrees. I rely on a 50K watt AM station for local news and weather. All I can get is static. I might have expected poor quality from some no-name brand but I am shocked that Sony would have overlooked the necessity for a way to rotate the internal ferrite antenna or at the very least, a connector for an external antenna. So much for technology. I can file a warranty claim but I'll have another $20. shipping invested in a radio that I already overpaid for and get a refurb back that may be no better. It's going back to the retailer for a refund.

Didn't last very long

The unit was not turned on and it blew a circuit breaker in my house. The unit is completely dead, will do nothing. The Sony web site has referbished units for sell. Now I know why.

What's not so great: 5 months old and it is not working

This unit has considerably more static than was ever experienced with a previous AM/FM undercounter radio in use for 20+ years. Also a section of the body of the radio partially melted when a candle was sitting on the counter nearby. Now the end knob that controls the timer and clock can not be turned and the first radio station selection button is non-operational. Unit is way overpriced for the quality.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Poor quality outside covering and static when other appliances are in use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
