I live in a small hot studio apartment. I have tried other fans. This does does a terrific job of circulating the air and making the apartment feel much more comfortable. I am so pleased with this fan. Great product.

How good is it if you can't clean it?

I received the 630 model as a gift for my living room. I have a 550 in my bedroom. While the model does circulate the air, in order to remove the grill to CLEAN it, you have to remove 3 screws. The screws are at the end of an extremely NARROW, LONG hole that requires a special not your run of the mill screwdriver. After I purchased that I spent the better part of a HALF HOUR trying to get the screws out. I got 1 out of 3 and lost 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back AND I still have a filthy fan. Not happy. Won't be buying another fan that makes it so difficult to keep clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

VORNADO jacked up prices so Ordered 630 Circulator B

VORNADO HAS JACKED UP THE PRICES TOO HIGH ON THE BIGGER FANS SO ORDERED THE SMALLER 630 Circulator B BECAUSE IT WAS MORE REASONABLY PRICED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE THE LOW SPEED SETTING THAT OLDER,BIGGER VORNADOS DID. THUS THE FAN SPEED SETTING IS MUCH TOO STRONG TO SET IT UP ANYWHERE NEAR. HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT VORNADO BUT BECAUSE OF THE JACKED UP PRICING ON THE STANARD LARGER FANS, WILL PROBABLY SHOP AROUND WITH OTHER MANUFATURERS NEXR PURCHASE.
Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Poor Speed Settings -, Quiet
Cons: No Low Speed Setting
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the first Vornado product I ever used and it was amazing because of the air circulation, quality , and design. The air that this fan provided me was amazing, comforting, and quite. When comparing this to most fans that put out lots of air this one can do it without all the loud noise. The other fan I had before this one sounded like a air plane flying around the house.

This item replaces the same model I had for 11 years which would still be running (almost continuously) if the cord hadn't become loose (most likely caused by my tripping over it over the years while moving it around the apartment). With a little more care on my part I look forward to another decade or so of reliable operation with this new unit.

I think my Vornado 630 is about 4 years old and runs as smoothly and quietly as ever.
As you can tell from my pic, Sammy, my Corgi, just LIVES in the wake of the Vornado. He'd give you "5 Tails Up"...if he HAD one.
