Fan type 630 lasted about 2 years and it died it was under warranty I called them and they sent me a new one in about 4 days great service.

Owned this for maybe a little over 2 years, works the same as i got it the first day. Very powerful and circulates the air like advertised. Recently broke the fan blade while cleaning, reached out to Vornado Support. They were extremely kind, helpful, and responsive. Replacement part is being shipped and on its way. I offered to pay, but no payment was necessary. I spent days looking for a replacement part, its good to know Vornado has got your back. Love Vornado and all their products!
Pros: Adjustable, Compact, Durable, Good Power Output, Lightweight, Stable Base

I live in Seattle, where it rarely gets hot enough to justify AC in the home. However, we've had a few heat spells in recent summers that can drive temperatures in our older, poorly venhilated home into the mid-90's. Last year we purchased 2 of these mid-size fans and I can not believe how well they circulate the air through the second floor of the home and how quickly they can cool down the house when the sun goes down. They are powerful fans and I love how they don't take up much space.

We have five different Vornado fans and each of them is an excellent value and performer. The 630 is quiet on lowest setting and has allowed us to raise our air conditioning temperature to about five degrees above what we use, thereby saving hundreds of dollars per year. Vornado is always worth the small extra in the price for warrranty, performance and effectiveness.

NOT whisper quiet!!!

our 1st fan was the 783 and is outstanding. it's used all the time during the summer in the evenings when the air conditioner is not needed. we bought the supposedly 630 'whisper quiet' for bedroom use at night. it does the job as far as circulating air...but even at the lowest speed its certainly not quiet.....wakes me up in the middle of the night!

I bought this as a replacement for a Lakewood Kool Operator Jr. (8"), a fan which I've used everyday (and sometimes 24hrs/day for weeks on end), for nearly 20 years. Although the Vornado is a bit bigger, it's not so much so as to be a problem, and it actually seems more robust - which I can only hope to mean another 20 years with this fan. Compared to a cheap one I'd found online, well, there really is no comparison, on low this moves considerably more air than the cheapie does on high, and while a tad louder (vornado on low, cheap one on high), it's not appreciably so. When cranked up to high, it's quite loud - which is what I needed for a whitenoise while sleeping - and why I marked the rating as 5/5 for quiet, as it is quiet, but also produces a volume that I was looking for.

Pros: Compact size for the air movement it puts out. Heavy, solid construction, nothing like cheapo fans the same size. Padding under the base ensures the unit will stay in place when placed on a slick surface. REALLY moves the air; works great as a unidirectional fan when sitting right in front of it during the hottest part of the day but truly shines when it comes to cooling things down once the sun sets, dropping the indoor temperature much more quickly and efficiently than any combination of standard fans. Very quiet on low and medium settings, only slightly louder on high. Cons: None that I can think of. Don't be fooled into thinking this is just another fan. It is not; the performance is superior to any fan and belongs in a class of its own.

Great fan! Also acts as a white noise machine helping to drown out some of the noise of my upstairs neighbors kids running across the floor and their stereo. Not everyone wants whisper quiet.
